WOOHOO!!!!! 😁😁😁
Liam knew whenever he was in town visiting his little brother that they would always meet in a quirky bar called Roni’s not far from the station. But since said brother had gone teetotal a good few years ago they’d changed their arrangement to a rather pompous looking coffee chop in the opposite direction… which was a shame considering Liam had a bit of an eye for the woman who owned Roni’s bar. (it didn’t stop him from popping in and saying ‘hello’ when he was in town.)
But this time he’d said he’d meet him somewhere else...
And this place was different.
For one, it wasn’t really a place, but more of a vehicle.
And two, said vehicle seemed to only sell a handful of items.
But he waited regardless… only fifteen more minutes until he should arrive… so Liam decided to order the beignets and coffee on offer.
He was greeted by a vibrant and bubbly woman who had the most infectious smile he’d ever seen considering he found himself beaming at her right back.
“Hey there! What can I get you?” she asked, creating a laid back and welcoming atmosphere.
“I think I'll try the beignets and coffee, please.” Liam smiled back, pulling out his polite charm.
“Ooh, that accent tells me you’re not from around here.” she teased as she poured a steaming cup.
“Is it that obvious?” he joked in return, “i’m actually waiting for someone.”
“Is this a good someone or a bad someone?” she asked, causing Liam to chuckle at her sense of humour.
“A good someone I assure you. My brother, actually… speaking of…” he trailed off as a familiar face arrived beside him.
“Liam.” Rogers sighed with happiness as they embraced, both clapping a weighty hand on each other’s back.
Sabine smiled as she placed the coffee and paper bag on the counter, waiting for their reunion to finish.
“I never knew you had a brother.” she finally spoke, seeing two matching sets of eyes and smiles turn to her.
“Ah, Sabine, this is my older brother Liam… Liam, this is Sabine.”
“And you. Here’s your order and…” Sabine paused to grab a similar paper bag and cup to place it next to the other, “here’s the usual for my favourite detective.” she concluded with a smile and a wink in Rogers’ direction.
Liam watched his brother blush as he thanked the charming woman. He knew that twinkle in his eye and it finally made sense why he would want to meet here.
His little brother had a crush.
“I suppose we better get going, car’s parked just over there.” Rogers informed Liam with a face still glowing red.
“It was wonderful to meet you, Sabine. I have a feeling I'll be seeing you quite often.” he saw his brother’s eyes go wide and Sabine looked at him curiously before he added, “for beignets. I hear they’re the best. Have a lovely day.”
They said their goodbyes as the men headed towards the fancy looking Chevelle parked just opposite the food truck.
“So she’s rather nice.” Liam poked.
“Aye. Best beignets you’ll ever taste.” Rogers covered.
The rest of the ride was full of Liam making innuendoes and teasing… and no matter how much he protested, he knew his brother secretly enjoyed having his approval.
