reminder that you’re not behind. everyone has a completely different life. we are all taking it at our own pace. do what you can. and it’s okay if you can’t do anything right now. if it has been like this for sometime, try looking into what might be causing it for you. you’re going to be okay 🩷

your therapist is not there to tell you what to do or fix your life. this is because you are the expert on your life and someone else “advising” you about how to live it can go horribly wrong. no one knows you or your situation better than yourself.

however, your therapist is there to be with you and help you navigate your issues in a way that is beneficial and not maladaptive.

you don't have to have a clinical mental disorder in order to go to therapy. you can go to therapy even if:

  1. you are having issues with your interpersonal relationships
  2. you find it hard to regulate your emotions.
  3. you are struggling with balancing different aspects of your life.
  4. you are experiencing a stressful period.
  5. you want to gain more insight into your own thoughts, feelings, and actions.
  6. you want to build skills like time management, assertiveness, emotional management, goal setting, etc.
  7. you feel lost.
