Your existence makes a difference
Some days, it is easy to feel as though everything around is much larger than us. It can be an overwhelming feeling when one feels insignificant, a small particle against this huge universe. It is natural to feel powerless that way.
However, some may also feel the insignificance of their existence in ways quite tragic. Sometimes, a lone thought about how we don’t add value to the lives of those around us may settle in our heads. It makes a cottage for itself and feeds on our vitality like a parasite.
Maybe someone (unfairly) told us/made us believe that we don’t matter. That no matter what we did, it was all futile. We couldn’t be what anyone needed. We couldn’t make anything worthy of love out of ourselves. It doesn’t matter if we’re around or not.
Pause right here.
Unclench your jaw if you’re holding it and breathe expanding your belly.
All of that is not true. Nobody gets to decide how worthy you are but yourself. You’re a complete person with dreams swirling in your irises, with ambition beating in your chest, with love flowing through your veins. You’re here and that’s a beautiful thing.
You add value by just being. Your existence makes a difference.
A good one.
friendly reminders:
- you don't have to be productive every day
- you are worthy even if all you did today was get out of bed
- there are people out there who care about you
- your existence makes a difference
- if something bothers you, then it bothers you. no one has the right to tell you otherwise
- you are allowed to take up space
- there is no 'right way' to grieve
- you cannot put a time limit on emotions
- your likes and interests are valid and they matter
- it's okay to take your time in doing things. not everyone can do everything at the same pace
