Listen I’ve never listened to The Amazing Devil before, but I kept seeing the post about their album The Horror and the Wild, and I just started the first song and idk what it is but I already have goosebumps everywhere. I don’t ever get goosebumps, but like wtf is that??? What is THAT?? I can’t wait to listen to everything they have ever made.

I was thinking today about the Amazing Devil fandom. I’ve never seen a fandom that loves each other with so much ferocity. We support and validate each other in ways I’ve never seen.

We’re also remarkably bi, pan, NB, trans, ace, and aro.

I think these things are related. We’re the Bad Queers. We’re the queers the other queers say are wrong, or confused, or don’t even exist.

We spent our whole lives being told if we just tried a little harder, if we just were a little better, if we could just be a little more normal, then we’d be okay. We’ve always lived on the edges.

And then The Amazing Devil came along and just. Got us. Saw right into the core of each one of us. Picked out each feeling we’d kept buried inside. And told us we were okay, just as we were.

So we can’t help but tell it to each other. We can’t help but love and support and validate each other. Because we know we’re okay as we are. We’re enough. We’re doing fine.

We’ll wear our eyeliner if we want, dear hearts. Fuck yeah we will.
