KHR Rarepair Week - 2

Sky

Dragon AU | Royalty AU

Pairing: Daemon/Tsuna NSFW Content: No Warnings: None

Summary: Tsuna returns home to help bury his father, only to receive a kingdom instead.

0-0-0-0-0-0

“I…I don’t understand,” Tsuna stammers as one of the maids places an expensive cup and saucer filled with mint tea before him. “Why wasn’t I called when the first death happened? I know– I know my birth was my father’s shameful secret, but I’m an apothecary! I could have helped!”

Across from him at the small sitting table he’s been ushered to, the Grand Spymaster Daemon Spade purses his lips and considers the question. Since Tsuna’s arrival here mere hours ago, he has been the pinnacle of perfection, of consideration. It’s clear to Tsuna that Daemon is grieving in his own way, but more than that he’s trying to hold up a kingdom that isn’t his to bear.

He hadn’t expected to find this when he spent four days in non-stop travel across the kingdom’s borders to reach his birth place. He’d expected to find his brothers in mourning, his mother in tears at the loss of her husband. He hadn’t come with the intention of harming anyone or trying to usurp his brothers - merely to offer comfort and perform the rites for his father’s body before vanishing back into his old life.

Title: For Her Majesty’s Glory

Author: threedices

Rating: General

Pairing: Daniela | Vongola Ottavo/Lal Mirch

Prompt: Royalty AU

Tags/Warnings:None.

The first time Lal ever saw the Empress, it was after the last war their country was part of. Lal was still young and the Empress was so bright and untouchable, her blood red armour beautiful and threatening, the golden wings as accent gleaming under the sunlight.

Lal was in awe.

From the on, there was only one thought in her mind: to become a knight in Empress Daniela’s army.

Lal trained harder than any other recruit and when he try outs came, she felt ready.

This feeling only held until Lal saw the Empress, who was watching the try outs to pick someone for her personal guard as well.

Lal caught the Empress’s eye.

Empress Daniela’s gaze was cool, but benevolent.

Lal felt her face grow hot.

She turned her gaze elsewhere, to the announcer, who called the names of those who had made the cut.

Lal’s name was among them.

She had never felt prouder and the happiness filled her to bursting.

“Greet the newest members of her Imperial Majesty’s guard.”

The watching crowd cheered and Lal straightened her spine.

From the corner of her eyes, she could see the Empress clap, a pleased smile on her face.

Lal was floating with happiness.

The next day, the Empress had called Lal to offer her a place at her side.

“I need someone strong. Someone unwavering. Someone I can trust.”

Lal nodded. She had heard rumours, everyone had.

The prince was a good man, but had fallen into circles that grew restless waiting for the Empress to die.

When she bowed, it was with reverence and respect.

“I am yours.”

She meant it with her whole heart.

If the Empress pointed her to kill the traitors, Lal would be her sword, and if necessary take the fall.

Empress Daniela was still an impressive woman. It disquieted certain people in the court that she had never taken another husband after her first one died in the war before. She one she ended.

Lal dared to raise her head and nearly drowned in her Empress’ eyes.

The Empress smiled down at her. “Good.” She held out a hand for someone to hand her a sword.

Lal could not look away.

The Empress stood, as beautiful as an avenging angel, and touched Lal’s shoulder with the blade.

“I raise you into knighthood, Sir Lal. May your services be great.”

Lal felt her breath catch. “I swear to you my body and my soul. May you use it well.”

Lal looked up again and saw the Empress’ gaze had softened.

Her Imperial Majesty waved her guards away.

“Now that this is out of the way, let  us talk about your duties.”

Lal shivered and hoped against hope that her total devotion would not make her look like a complete fool.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Title: The rustling of dragon wings

Author: threedices

Rating: General

Pairing: Byakuran/Sawada Tsunayoshi/Uni | Yuni

Prompt: Dragon AU/Royalty AU

Tags/Warnings: mention of dragons eating people and mention of skeltons and blood.

Tsuna was a shivering mess.

“I can’t do that Yuni, I can’t.”

Yuni nodded, patting his shoulder comfortingly.

Something had to be done. Tsuna would never survive becoming king.

And that was not just because of the possible assassination attempts.

As his future spouse, Yuni had a responsibility.

“I have an idea,” she told him, hoping her smile was bright, and convincing, enough.

Bow Before The Queen

Title: Bow Before the Queen

Author: Seito

Rating: G

Pairing: Reborn/Nana

Prompt: Sky [Royalty AU | Dragon AU] for @khrrarepairweek

Tags/Warnings: N/A

Summary: Prince Iemitsu tries to win Queen Nana’s hand in marriage. It doesn’t end well.

They say the Kingdom of Namimori is a small but plentiful kingdom. Its land is rich, no mouth truly goes starving. The weather is beautiful, the turning of each season breathtaking in its own way. Towering mountains defend the kingdom, but no matter their lofty heights, hungry eyes still turn towards Namimori.

They say the Kingdom of Namimori is weak. Their small borders means their army is naturally small. There was no king to lead them, only a weak queen who had been ruling since her father had passed. She refused to marry, despite having a child that no one can account for. Countless suitors and potential grooms have championed for her hand and she has turned them all away. So in turn, they mock her and call her weak.

They say the Kingdom of Namimori, despite all these things, is well protected. No one knows why exactly. There are stories of a magical barrier that the Queen can only maintain as long as she remains unmarried. There are rumors of a deadly weapon. Even a story of a dragon! Wives tales that no one can confirm as true or not. But still the curious come. still seeking the Queen’s hand, still marching with their armies to conquer.

Yet none have been able to claim Namimori as their own.

-.-.-.-

“Prince Iemitsu.”

Iemitsu’s breath was taken away. When his father had sent him, no one had mention how beautiful Queen Nana of Namimori is. Suddenly this dull and boring trip to attempt to court her was no longer a painful thing. He can picture himself marrying this woman.

“Queen Nana,” Iemitsu says with a bow. “You are far more beautiful in person.”

Nana merely gives him an amuse look. “I would like to thank you for the beautiful gift the Kingdom of CEDEF has sent. There is something legendary about the liquor your kingdom produces.”

Iemitsu puffs out his chest. “Yes! We make the greatest wine around.”

They adjourn to a large sitting room, a bottle of the wine Iemitsu had provided sat on the table with two wine glasses. Ever the gentleman, Iemitsu held out the chair for Nana for her to sit. Nana smiles, taking her seat. A servant sweeps into the room, opening the bottle of wine, tasting it briefly for poison before pouring it out into the two wine glasses. They vanished after that, leaving the two of them alone.

Iemitsu glance around the room, appreciating the sheer size of it. It is almost as large as the throne room, leaving plenty of space. It is an odd feature. A boast? To show of their wealth and presence? What a cute idea.

“Where is your son, Prince Tsunayoshi?” Iemitsu asks. Like with everything in Namimori, Prince Tsunayoshi is shroud in a mist of mystery. He had only been presented a few times (and no one had even known that Queen Nana had been pregnant) but kept safely guarded nevertheless.

“He is with his tutor,” Nana answers. She tilts her head ever so slightly and Iemitsu feels a chill go down his spine. “Why don’t we get down to business? Why did you come to Namimori, Prince Iemitsu?”

He hears the steel in her words and wonders were the stories that Queen Nana is a weak woman come from. It makes his heart race though. He always like a fire in his women.

“CEDEF and Namimori are border neighbors,” Iemitsu says. “But my kingdom is over ten times the size of Namimori with the power to back it up. Surely we can unite our kingdoms together.”

“By unite, you wish for my hand in marriage,” Nana says.

“It would be an honor,” Iemitsu says. Truly. He has no complains.

“And this is has nothing to do with the fanime that CEDEF has been facing the last three years,” Nana says. She swirls the wine in her glass, raising it high enough for the sunlight to glint off it.

Iemitsu felt his stomach drops. Well, it is not surprising that she knew about that. The only reason why he could bring wine was because of the aging process. “I-it slightly does. We could use Namimori’s assistance with food supplies. But it isn’t as if you don’t benefit from tying our kingdoms together. After all, Namimori is often targeted by invading armies. CEDEF ”

A soft smile stretch across Nana’s face, much like a parent indulging a child in a fantasy. “I will not marry you, Prince Iemitsu. Namimori has no need for CEDEF’s assistance at this time.”

Iemitsu scowled. “Your mountains will fail you one day. And spreading silly false stories will not help you.”

“Stories?” Nana asks, tone curious.

“Like dragons protecting your kingdom,” Iemitsu says with a scoff. What a child’s tale. You would have to be an idiot to believe something like dragons.

Nana clapped her hands together, beaming brightly. “That isn’t a story.”

Iemitsu felt a presence loom behind him, a gust of hot air hitting him. Twirling around, he came face to face with a large pitch black dragon staring down at him. Its teeth were as large as Iemitsu, pearly white and razor sharp. It opened its mouth, preparing to swallow Iemitsu in a single gulp.

‘Thud’

“Oh dear,” Nana says, cupping her cheek. “He fainted.”

The dragon flexed its wings, before its form strank, twisting and transforming into a tall male human. He threads a hand through his jet black spiky hair. “Chaos.”

“Reborn!” Nana says cheerfully. “How is Tsuna?”

Reborn kicked the unconscious Iemitsu. “Napping. He tired himself with shapeshifting practice,” he says, stepping over Iemitsu. He lift Nana’s hand to place a kiss to it. “When will these useless suitors learn that you’re mines?”

Nana laughs. “It doesn’t help that we normally just dump them beyond our borders while they’re still unconscious and steal all their clothes and belongings. Most of them pass it off as fevered dream.”

“I could just eat them,” Reborn suggests.

“Hmm, you probably wouldn’t like the taste of them,” Nana replies.

Reborn sighs. “Then I suppose I should just take out the trash. Until I return, my queen,” he says, flourishing his words with a slight bow.

Nana press a kiss to his cheek. “Swift travels, my dragon.”

You Can Rule My World

Title: You Can Rule My World Author: Shiro (TeitoxAkashi [AO3]/ seijuurouxryuu [tumblr]) Rating: G Pairing: Reborn/ Fon Event: @khrrarepairweek Prompt: Dragon AU | Royalty AU Tags/Warnings: No Archive Warning Applied

Day 2: Sky Day
Hibari’s nose scrunched up at that, but he didn’t say anything. He merely scoffed and walked forward, heading back into the castle. “Fon is in the library.”
Reborn hummed, tipping his fedora forward slightly to cover his eyes. “Grazie, Hibari.” Hibari scoffed again.

Reborn paused and took a step back. Just as he did, a man jumped down from the roof and landed on the spot he had once stood. Amused, Reborn watched as the other straighten, eyes tinted with bloodlust, teeth showing as he smirked. “Good day, Hibari. What pleasure do I own to have you visiting ol’ me?”

We Roar Like Giants

Title: We Roar Like Giants

Author: Adel Mortescryche

Rating: T

Pairing: Sawada Tsunayoshi/Superbi Squalo

Prompt: Dragon AU and Royalty AU

Tags/Warnings: Pre-Slash. No Bestiality. Anthropomorphic, Shapeshifting Dragons

Summary: All Squalo wants to do is rescue his Boss from the tower Xanxus is stuck in. But he didn’t count on the dragon ‘guarding’ it.

AO3 Link: Here.

My Masterlist: Here.

AN: Written for @khrrarepairweek 2018 - Sky Day (Day Two).

Entries: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Whatever he’d been expecting, the dragon hadn’t been it.

“Hieeeee!” it wailed, and actually tried to hide behind the tower. Squalo could have told it that wasn’t going to work, it was just too damned big, but he was too busy gaping with his sword arm sagging in place.

“Is that you, shark-trash?!” the Prince roared from the window right below the turret of the tallest tower in the castle. “Fucking finally! Bring that magic sword of yours so I can cut through the magic on this First-damned door already!”

Squalo wondered if it wasn’t too late to just ride the fuck back to the Varia Compound. It might have been years since Iemitsu and the King had had the Boss spirited away to some First-forsaken place in the open countryside, and they might really need their leader back already, but he was beginning to remember why the last few years had been so peaceful compared to the days when Xanxus had been around to raise hell on a daily basis.
