just remembered my old Batman role-play server that happened during Covid. I guess we were all just going insane. I don’t think anyone participated in this is actually a huge fan of DC comics or anything. a lot of the characters we just kind of read the Wikipedia article for and went with it I don’t even remember who played who this all feels very accurate to me. The downside is that we were using a bot that was actually invented for plural systems because you could just make an infinite number of name + icon + proxy text profiles . well, the fucking problem here is that you set it up by proxy tax and I think starting a message with two “!!l” my proxy test for a profile that was basically just golden age the joker. that server was full the type of plural person who feels there are very strict rules and manners around these sort of unexplored neurological states of mind in like a circlejerk way. taken serious as cancer. Well, wouldn’t you fucking know it? I forget about my proxy text and all these people having a serious conversation. I accidentally post a normal message as 🃏 JOKER 🃏. yeah I didn’t recover from that one. I tried to explain hurriedly that I don’t have some sort of fictionally introjected alter named JOKER. and tried to laugh it off but someone was like. So what? So what if you did? There’s nothing wrong with that.

A manatee rescue that I follow responded to a call about a female manatee with two calves because one of her babies had been injured by a boat strike. The entire family was temporarily relocated from the wild into a wildlife rehab facility for the injured male calf to undergo treatment. While there, vets noted the female calf was significantly larger than the little injured male. They did genetic testing and determined that big sister calf actually wasn’t related to the other two manatees at all! She was in fact an orphan calf that the adult manatee had found and taken in to care for right alongside her own little one.

Wild to think this manatee calf was literally adopted and nobody would have ever known if it weren’t for random coincidence and human curiosity. Every animal that you cross paths with in life has a fascinating personal story that you’ll only ever catch a glimpse of (if you’re lucky).
