6. Lament
I couldn't really settle on anything specific for this prompt, so I just used it as an excuse to draw Vin. It's been a month or two since I last used inks, so it was nice to get back into that.
On top of coursework, my iPad also broke. Which, that's just great. I'm not sure whether I'm gonna be able to keep up and finish inktober. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up over the weekend, and it's a good excuse to focus on my ink drawing more, but I could've done without that this week.
5. Wind
A little bit late with getting this one done, but I'm feeling amped with the result. I had a sketch of Syl I was going to do originally - but then I got stuck thinking about Kaladin's windspren shardplate. Something about the description of them when he swears the 4th ideal - of a vortex, and the sky exploding with light - is stuck in my head.
I still want to take another crack at that scene at some point. I had a good go last inktober but there was obviously time constraints; then there was a second attempt that never quite got past the lineart (just didn't seem to be clicking). So yeah, just something sitting on the backburner for now I guess.
4. Game
I'm pretty tired after this week, and I'm looking forward more to tomorrow's prompt; so I decided to keep it simple and quick for this one.
I've been making my way through the souls games, so I just did a bonfire here. After the Elden Ring DLC, Dark Souls 3 feels almost relaxing in comparison.
3. Spicy
Not thrilled with how this one came out. I was trying for a simpler style. Not quite sure what's bugging me about it, but I think it might be a combination of the lighting and the perspective?
Oh well - I've got another couple of weeks of prompts to play around with my art still.
- White
Day 1 of Inktober! I'm going to be following the Cosmere Inktober prompts for most of these - hence the art of Szeth.
I feel I could of done more with the rendering, and adding more detail, but I'm not used to working at this pace. Still, I'm really happy with how this turned out - especially looking back to and comparing it to the one of Szeth I did this day a year ago.
I recently finished my first DnD campaign. It's been a blast playing as this goober, and I'm probably gonna get around to the rest of the party too at some point. Probably after Inktober.
Just a quick piece to try and practice my rendering
Messing around with some rough 2D animating for fun.
from now on, whenever you see an art style you wish you had, instead of going "oh I WISH I could, I want ALL the art styles and yet I am CONFINED to only ONE, and anyway I am not GOOD enough to do that one!!!", repeat after me: "ooh, I wanna try that later."
like, yes, yearning feels Passionate and Artistic and Emotionally Intense, and by going "I could never do that" you leave the art you love with a kind of Legendary Mystique--as if you are a child watching a magic trick.
but you can also switch your brain to "how did they do that" mode instead and play around with anything you want. you can learn the trick for yourself. and it may seem less dazzling afterwards, but that's the price you pay to make your own magic.
in short, basically, you can do whatever you want forever.
