I looked up miso soup and proposals and this makes wayyyyy more sense now…
Old-fashion Japanese proposals were very indirect, and modern Japanese girls will probably just laugh if you asked them a traditional proposal like: “Will you make miso soup for me everyday?” [source]
So apparently asking a girl to make you miso soup every day was a way that Japanese men proposed traditionally ^-^. On the same page page I found the following in the comments that I could imagine being Touka’s reply to this type of proposal =p…
