Sakura became her master Tsunade’s scape goat during a power struggle in Konoha, and was exiled to a border hospital where turmoil was frequent.

Madara is the head of the mercenary group called Tsukuyomi Congregation, and was ordered to rescue the high-level officials at the border hospital. Witnessing Sakura’s self-defense process on the monitor, he offered to recruit her.
