💌 happy valentines day
gruvia week 2022 - Greige
Juvia wanted to ask Gray a question.
As both of them lay in bed, ready to retire for the day, she squirmed and faced her husband. Juvia bit her lip before swallowing the lump in her throat.
“Gray-sama?” She asked, putting a strand of hair behind her ear. This was it.
He whipped his head and hummed in response. “What is it, Juvia?”
Juvia’s heart raced, was she ready to ask it this time? She shifted her eyes to their wedding photo that hung on the wall. She gulped, and then offered him a small smile. “Juvia wants cuddles.”
She backtracked at the last second, and felt her palms become sweaty. Maybe she wasn’t ready to hear Gray’s answer tonight. She can always ask some other time.
As she reached for Gray to hug him, she bit her lip again. Her husband’s fast eyes caught her uneasy expression.
Gray proceeded to embrace her and tucked his chin on her shoulder.
“You can always tell me what’s bothering you, you know.” Gray spoke, tracing his fingers on the exposed skin of her back.
Juvia tensed and kept her position, still looking at their wedding photo on the wall.
Their lives were peaceful during the last few years after Gray finished the quest with his team. Juvia, on her end, busied herself with combat training and created new spells with her water magic. She also did solo jobs while he wasn’t around, or teaming up with her other friends. Juvia made sure that their time spent apart was time dedicated to her personal growth as well.
They went on a few dates every time Gray took a break– they were short, but still made Juvia’s heart dance. The fact that Gray wanted to spend time with her whenever he came home was something that made Juvia happy. And she became happier when everything between them became official. She longed for Gray ever since, and to finally be with him like this made her heart swell from euphoria. And everyone saw the joy extend to her physical features. Juvia turned into an even more beautiful woman after they became a couple. Everyone noticed her enchanting glow everytime she graced the guild with her presence.
And now, they were husband and wife for more than a year. Juvia remembered the way her eyes watered from their unforgettable day. The day she had been waiting for for years. The feeling of excitement and nervousness made her overthink so much. Before the ceremony, she got badly stressed that someone had to calm her down. Because what if Gray changed his mind and didn’t want to marry her anymore? She didn’t want dark moments and rainy days anymore.
Meredy managed to calm her down and convince her that Gray loved her, and would seek her if she ever ran away. She even joked about linking their senses again. Her friend clasped her hands in hers and told her that Gray loved her with his all. All Juvia needed to do to prove that Gray wanted to be with her was walk down the aisle and lock their eyes together.
She recalled her heart pounding in her chest as she readied herself to walk down the aisle. The moment their eyes met, Juvia felt at ease. She’s really going to spend the rest of her life with the right man, the best man. What a lucky woman she was.
And now, they were at this point in their lives, married and making each other happy and fulfilled. As the days went by, Juvia thought that maybe they were ready for an addition in their life. A child of their own, who they would love and nurture as they grow older.
Juvia wanted to ask Gray a question, but she didn’t know where to start.
She knew from the getgo that she wanted children, that she wanted to be a mother. She wanted to give them all the love and attention they deserve. Love and attention, things that Juvia was ready to offer.
Juvia knew that he was great with children and younger folks, but he didn’t seem to realize it. She always watched him being a big brother to Wendy and Romeo. The kids in the orphanage they often visit liked him as well too.
Seeing all those interactions, Juvia knew Gray would be a great father. Someone who would act like their rock when everything swayed. Someone who would shield them from harm. Someone who would give his all to make them happy and content.
Someone who would love them everyday until the very end.
That would be Gray.
She never wondered if he wanted one, because he wanted one as well. They talked about it even before their wedding preparations. He was all smiles while discussing it with her. She could see the excitement and yearning in his eyes to start a family. But Juvia also noticed that Gray felt nervous about being a father. From the sweating of his palms to the tapping of his feet. Everytime someone mentioned parenthood in the guild after their wedding, Gray tensed. So she never pushed the subject over and over. But she always dropped hints, especially the past few days.
Juvia held her breath and sighed on his neck. Now that he asked, might as well open up about it again.
“Well, Juvia wants… another person with us in the photos on the wall.”
Gray continued to caress her back, before pushing her shoulders, just enough for him to look in her eyes. He smiled at her before following her gaze at their wedding photo behind him.
“You mean like a photobomber? Like Natsu?”
“Juvia didn’t mean it like that!” She pounded his chest with her fist.
Gray laughed and pinched her cheeks. “Kidding! I’m kidding!”
He stared at her, eyes soft and comforting.
“I… want that as well, you know. The Redfox twins need some playmates a few years from now.” He kissed her temple before continuing. “Were you really worried about asking me about wanting to have a baby?”
Juvia nuzzled his neck and hummed. “Guess Juvia was just nervous about the timing.”
“Well, I’m your husband so you should communicate your needs and wants. You can tell me anything.” Gray held her hand and kissed it over and again, making Juvia smile. Her heart fluttered with his reassurance, her doubts leaving her thoughts.
“Besides, I’ve been saving up some extra from my jobs, you know? I want to work harder and try my hardest to raise Greige.”
Juvia rested her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. She didn’t know where the nervousness came from, but she’s glad that it all went away when he assured her. “Sorry, Gray-sama, Juvia thought about it a lot lately but she was afraid of coming forward and ask.” She lifted her head up and tilted her head, brown eyes scanning his expression.
“But now that you reassured Juvia, she’s not worried anymore. You already even have a name in mind!” Juvia sat up and rested her back on board. “Greige… What a wonderful name! How are you so sure that our child will be a boy?”
Gray mimicked her and sat up as well, holding her hand and giving her a playful grin. He didn’t want to tell her about their Edolas counterparts.
“Just a wild guess.” He said, intertwining their fingers together. “Besides, you’ve been eyeing things at the baby section for boys at the places we visit.”
Oh, so he noticed her hints.
“Gray, Juvia and Greige.” She smiled. “Juvia likes it a lot.”
Gray held her chin up and placed a deep kiss on her lips. “I like it a lot, too.” He whispered, as she pushed Juvia down the bed and kissed her again.
A year later, beside their wedding photo, a framed picture of Gray, Juvia and a newborn Greige hung beside it.

Drunk in Jealousy
Pairing: Gruvia
Sozsozsoz this was suppose to be done last year but I procrastinated on it. Anyway valentines is near so I hope this piece of ficlet will be a decent contribution to the Gruvia fandom c: This is NOT NSFW, despite the sound of the title. This actually spurred from a headcanon regarding the previous Christmas special where in that drinking game, it was always Gray doing the dares with the other girls making Juvia jealous, and I wondered how it’ll be if it was the other way round instead. Sorry that it’s crazy long. Enjoy!
EDIT: Just saw that there’s a valentines fanfiction event for the big 4 so I’m just tagging this in along to celebrate @fuck-yeah-big-four ————————— In Fairy Tail, drinking and brawling has become essential needs for a celebration to take place. For Lucy’s birthday today, it was also part of the guild’s program in conjunction with getting an award for her latest book written. The guild decided and went huge with the event, catering great food and decorations all over the hall for all to enjoy.
With that, the celebration was coming to its end as people started leaving the guild to their homes. However, some close friends stayed and gathered around the table as they continued to drink and fellowship with one another. Wanting to spice up the night, the knight at the table decided to speak up.
“We should play a drinking game!” “HA! I bet I can drink this beer faster than all of you!” “Natsu, it’s not like that…” Recollecting back the memories of the previous times where they drank and played “games” –– the ice mage amidst the conversation –– Gray Fullbuster, felt a churn in his stomach. The past experiences of these drinking fiascos have been nothing but chaotic, especially when it was being led by the scarlet haired mage. The black haired man turned his attention inconspicuously to the bluenette who was beside him. With the shoulder initially tensed, Gray loosened it up a little when he saw Juvia, still being her normal self and not drunk. The fact that last Christmas, the water mage was forced to go out with little clothing and have the crowd ogling at her made him rage. Of course, he did not say or realise it back then. But now, things were different and Fullbuster was not going to allow that to happen again. “Uh, I don’t think we should play this game.” “C’mon Gray! Don’t be such a party pooper. Let’s have some fun!” “Are ya’ scared to lose to me ice pants?!” “What did you say?!” “Oh God, please don’t fight you two.” Lucy raised her hands up in dismay before smiling. “But Erza’s right, Gray –– let’s have some fun tonight and let loose a little.” The ice mage eyes widened in surprise before he spoke hesitantly. “Are you sure? Don’t you remember what happened the previous times we had this?” “It’s fine! Besides, it’s my birthday –– and it’s been awhile since we’ve all been able to not worry about the world.” “Well, alright then…”
