  1. It took progressives shorter time to exonerate Debbie Wasserman Schultz (6 1/2 years) than it took liberals to do the same thing to George W. Bush (nine years).
  2. On the various unions deciding to endorse Biden on June 16, the answer of who the union bosses were spiting the most -- Marianne Williamson, RFK Jr, Dr. West or Workers Strike Back -- the answer to me was D because those bosses didn't take any of the three candidates seriously.
  3. The minimum wage remaining at $7.25/hour at the federal level is on the same trajectory as the gun issue: "Get used to $7.25" is the new thoughts and prayers.
  4. Elon Musk's obsession with naming a company X is the same as Vince McMahon's obsession with recreating the Diva Search (examples in WWE include the failed Emmalina experiment and Eva Marie returning).

I have a couple of reasons why I'm staying away from Bluesky:

1. The privacy issue. Although decentralized like Mastodon, Jack Dorsey's new outfit extracts user data the same way his old one and Facebook do.

2. I have never been into Twitter, so why'd I want to be into something that is exactly just like it? There would have to be a really good reason for me to reconsider.

The "US state affiliated media" is one of double standards and an intraclass dispute -- the former because obvious propaganda outlets like Voice of America and Radio Free Asia should have been given that label by the people who previously ran Twitter and the latter is based on the pissing contest inside the U.S. ruling class where there are members who want to reimplement the discredited neoliberal consensus and others who are done with it and want something more repressive (you can guess which side Elon is on).

i remember thinking when the deal was first announced how it'd be very funny if TSLA fell to $700 or so in the following few weeks and if that was what thwarted the buyout plan, but figured a 40% drop would be pretty improbable. Didn't expect it to actually happen! 😭😭😭. his own mouth has lost him money. granted, he's still filthy rich but this cannot be happy-making

I don't have a dog in that fight and given that I've never had an account, I really DGAF about whether Dumbass In Tweet is reinstated, but Musk walking away due to his own ego would be chef's kiss.
