  1. The Dems are getting pretty desperate because Dr. Stein has now tied the VP with the Muslim vote
  2. AOC should have known that Howie Hawkins was the Green nominee in 2020
  3. The WFP is a fake left organization that sheepdogs people back into the Democratic Party
  4. As someone who voted to block the railroad strike, how about you sitting down, AOC?
  5. Greens are running at the local level but her ilk are too busy ignoring them or telling people to not vote for them
  6. Democrats have spent this whole year to keep Greens, PSL and Cornel West off the ballot because they don't want anyone to their left on the ballot, nor do they want to deal with any anti-genocide opponents
  7. Predatory? Take risks? Bullshit, Alexandria! You refused to support Cori Bush (in 2020) or Paula Jean Swearngin (2018) when they ran for office and only supported Nina Turner the second time around at the 11th hour. Don't even get me started on kissing the ass of number one progressive basher Hakeem Jeffries who once stated that Israel is the sixth borough of NYC and that you steadfastly refused to get any concessions out of Nancy Pelosi in the middle of a deadly fucking pandemic
  8. AOC got her marching orders to trash the Green Party, but she may have made it easier for the Greens to get the needed 5 percent of the popular vote
  9. Democrats have been trivializing genocide at their own peril
  10. The professional managerial class folks who have defended her are also to blame since they have abandoned their principles of withholding their votes for the Democratic ticket solely because Joe Biden is out of the race

AOC thought she was slick 🤣🤣🤣

It's all about those receipts. This shows that both AOC and Jabari Brisport are careerists.

Hell, AOC isn't that much different from Kyrsten Sinema who also started out as a Green before switching to assume office as a Democrat. The only difference is that the lame duck Arizona senator might as well be auditioning to be the next leader of either No Labels or Andrew Yang's Forward Party.

They're no longer entitled to anyone's vote--not when abortion is back to its pre-Roe status. Not when student debt is something no one in Washington is serious about resolving. Not when eight Dem senators joined Republicans in nuking a now-insufficient bump in the minimum wage to $15/hour when it should be at least $30.

If anything, Democrats have lost my vote. Vote Green, Libertarian, independent or other leftist third party.

First of all, who was the genius behind putting a debate for such a vital contest on a Friday night?

Second, I watched a video of Ralph Nader a couple of days ago where he likened post-1984 presidential debates to dueling news conferences and can say that Beasley and Budd pretty much repeated that same mindset here.

Third, I didn't miss much.

Finally, look at the important issues that weren't discussed.

It's bullshit and they know it. If this miscarriage of justice is allowed to stand, then, the NCSBE will be solely responsible for whatever low(er) voter turnout that happens in November.

A pressure campaign by Hillary Clinton's ex-general counsel Marc Elias of the Elias Law Group resulted in voter intimidation tactics.

The NCSBE clearly made an arbitrary move that resulted in it violating its own rules.

The Dems are more interested in keeping Greens off the ballot than they are being reduced to a superminority in the General Assembly (if they lose one state Senate seat and lose two seats in the state House, then, there'll be a reign of terror in Raleigh).

The NCSBE didn't verify any signatures two years ago but decided to pull that card this time around while banning online petitions.

A postmortem on the Golden State left

A tale of two strategies

There were two camps: Courage California Institute and groups that aligned themselves with it on one side and the Left Unity Slate on the other side.

The former camp contained progressives who want to reform the Democratic Party while the latter camp contained leftists from third parties and independents.

DSA chapters straddled the fence between the two camps with some endorsing Dems in certain races and the Left Unity Slate in other races.

Courage California: A Trojan Horse to lure lefties back to the Democrats

Courage California contains various interest groups like the Working Families Party, the California Progressive Alliance, the Richmond Progressive Alliance and local Indivisible chapters.

Indivisible was responsible for squashing organic, grassroots left movements as demonstrated in Monterey County in 2017.

The fact that CCI is an ActBlue organization and is composed of Vote Blue No Matter Who organizations explains its terrible endorsements like Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass and Assemblyman Ash Kalra, who killed single payer healthcare.

If progressives had any balls, here's what would have happened after January 31:

  1. Kalra would have been publicly shunned for not revealing which Dems were barriers to AB 1400
  2. Progressive Democrats would have used their leverage to publicly potentially jeopardize the party's supermajority
  3. Progressive groups would've threatened to reach out to the Left Unity Slate and support their candidates instead of Dems by withholding endorsements

Instead, Kalra was actually endorsed by these groups, progressive Dems folded like a cheap tent around the establishment, and the CCI involved groups have been silent about strategy since.

What this tells me is that progressives are only fighters to a certain extent. That there are no Kshama Sawants in California is not only telling but troubling.

What should be next for the Left Unity Slate?

After its candidates finished anywhere from fourth to ninth, the Green and Peace & Freedom Parties need to gather other leftist parties and independents to become a threat to the Democrats' legislative supermajorities, and they should arrange a pact to not run against each other if they have been officially picked by the slate.

Also, the Left Unity Slate must demonstrate just how different it is from the passive progressives by taking forceful action.

Los Angles is a template

It was a bad day for progressives as most of them were beaten by establishment candidates.

As for the mayor's race, Gina Viola performed better than expected given some self-styled leftists were urging Angelos to vote for Congresswoman Bass to avoid a "spoiler" scenario.

Despite the best efforts of groups like People's City Council-Los Angeles to keep the momentum of mid-2020 going, the propaganda from the media and the police industrial complex has created a massive backlash that has not only resulted in support for more police funding but also an attack on homelessness rather than addressing why people are homeless in the first place.

The voters in Los Angeles City and County don't even seem to care that the Sheriff's Department has numerous gangs. With the effort to revert back to the 1990s, these results should finally put to bed any idea that liberals are leftists. I mean you had class solidarity among the rich when the likes of Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed mayoral frontrunner Rick Caruso.

Other tidbits

A Republican got more votes than Shahid Buttar for second place? In the 11th Congressional District? In fucking San Francisco? Nancy Pelosi is jumping up and down that she has token opposition in the fall.

In the 4th Congressional District, Jason Kishineff finished dead last out of six. It's a bad sign. He ran as a Green in 2018, as a Democrat two years ago and now as an independent. Nobody in the nation's supposedly leftmost state wants to rock the boat against the biggest establishment Democrats.

Certain DSA chapters refused to support communist candidates (Long Beach) because they were anti-imperialists while DSA leadership is pretty much wedded to the State Department position.

In other areas (San Diego), diehard socialist parties and DSA chapters promoted each other without any issues.
