Why I’m Not Running Again for City Council - The Stranger

A bombshell was dropped on Thursday. The end of an era you can say.

Kshama walked the walk, which is something that can't be said about her progressive colleagues on the Seattle City Council or The Squad in D.C. Kshama was definitely in the Clare Daly/Mick Wallace mold, and now as Democrats line up to flip one of the only few seats they lost under the Obama Era that was to their left, the City Council will now be exposed for what it really is: A bunch of corporate hacks and passive, go-along to get along progressives who will weakly push back.

That no one else is capable of picking up her mantle is an indictment of the entire left movement in this country. Instead of following Socialist Alternative's lead, the vast majority of those on the left decided to work on reforming the Democratic Party with little to show for it seven years after Bernie's first run for president.

A labor or national workers party would be quite useful right now.

First, why anyone continues to take Larry Summers seriously after all the harm he's done is beyond me.

Second, this should be getting more attention from the public.

This could be America if the people weren't so docile. Instead, the Senate via unanimous consent, beefs up security for Supreme Court justices. Just sad.
