Do liberals understand that when anarchists talk about direct action and resistance organizing and so forth, we're not talking about abstract hypothetical future action, but about stuff that most of us are already doing and that you could be doing, like, now? And I don't mean just "firebombing WalMarts" or whatever caricature gets traded on the internet: mutual aid networks are direct action, eviction resistance is direct action, housing immigrants is direct action, jail support is direct action.
Any act that directly addresses political problems without bothering to mediate through established power structures, like the state or non-profits, is direct action. It includes but is not limited to the targeted sabotage stuff that's popularly associated with the term.
And beyond immediate direct action, there's a shitload of logistical support to facilitate that action, not to mention the day-to-day community-building that goes into cultivating networks of resistance. You could be doing that! Yes, you, reading this! You could've been doing it yesterday, you could be doing it tomorrow, all you have to do is begin.
My husband Mohanad and I both worked as administrators at the Palace of Justice in Gaza.
We got engaged just two months before the war,
bought an apartment, and began dreaming of a new life together. But the war changed everything. Our workplace and apartment were destroyed, and we lost our jobs. Despite it all, we chose to move forward and got married in the middle of the war, with no wedding ceremony—just a simple union that symbolized resilience amid the devastation.
We’ve been displaced multiple times, each time facing a new eviction order and starting over again. We were forced to leave everything behind and flee with only a few belongings. The displacement was devastating, as we had to leave behind the life we built and the dreams we held for our future.
Today, we live in a small home in Al-Nuseirat, struggling to cover basic needs like food, water, and alternative electricity, facing monthly expenses we can hardly bear. Recently, a new eviction notice was issued for our area, and we don’t know what lies ahead. We’re searching for online work and have skills we can utilize, but finding opportunities has been very challenging under these conditions.
After renting the apartment in Nuseirat, we thought we had found a safe haven from the horrors of war. But on the night of 3-11-2024, explosions erupted nearby, and we never imagined one would hit our apartment. Suddenly, a missile struck; walls shook, parts collapsed, and windows shattered, leaving the room we had just been in destroyed.
We miraculously survived, but the place that once felt like a refuge had become a scene of chaos and destruction. With heavy hearts, we gathered what little remained and moved on once again, hoping to find shelter far from this endless devastation.

kamala should do her own january 6th. i think it would be funny
mayb im problematic for this but the thought of it happening again is kind of hilarious to me. imagine if it happened like. every year
we should build another whitehouse across the street from the one we already have and make republicans and democrats play tf2 irl
that mythic dawn museum in skyrim is extremely funny. imagine if someone opened a bin laden museum in kansas and the owner said that his dad flew the 9/11 plane. also its in his one room house. i am standing on his bed
someone posted a screenshot of the museum of tolerance in jerusalem wikipedia with the part how it was built upon a centuries old muslim burial site and i can't find the post now but it reminded me of how the canadian national museum of immigration celebrating the "immigration" of europeans to turtle island was built upon stolen land (kjipuktuk or great harbour) that has been a sacred site to the mi'kmaq people for thousands of years lol
museums in settler colonies are always named like "museum of friendship and diversity" and you find out it was built directly on top of an indigenous village

i wonder if dutch would seem less ridiculous to english speakers if the global dominance of english hadn't marginalized other anglo-frisian languages. a lot of dutch mockery seems to boil down to "it's like english but slightly different," an experience the average english speaker isn't used to having ig
I wish you could see Shinzo too buddy
I find the fascists in my area usually use adhesive back laser printer paper, and the stickers can't be peeled off cleanly once they're in place. They tear very easily though, so scratching through it with a key has been my move. Just keep scratching until it's an illegible rectangle.
If I can't get it to come off, I use my pocket knife or just slap another sticker over it. With PF, getting the url covered up/removed is my priority.
options if you can't just peel it off:
- scratch at it with keys/pocketknife until it's illegible
- cover it up with another sticker
- if you have paint or a chunky marker, just black the whole thing out
- if you have a non-chunky marker, scribble over the most egregious parts (org name + website/socials + slogans) and write/draw anti-fascist slogans/symbols on the rest
"kung pow penis," a phrase commonly used in reblogs to indicate utter disdain for OP, has twelve letters, each of which (traditionally) must be supplied by a different user. the unanimity of disdain indicated by these twelve unrelated users has strong parallels to the requirement of unanimity for a jury—also traditionally of twelve—to arrive at a verdict. in this essay i will
