Okay so I just revisited your hero observation au tag (beloved) and I am absolutely OBSESSED with the dynamic that exists between All Might and Izuku!

Toshi just gives off such exasperated cat owner vibes, like he keeps telling Izuku to stop pushing glasses of water off of his coffee table and plopping down on his keyboard while he's working on important documents (both representative of trapping heroes in this case), but Izuku either doesn't understand him or is very good at pretending he doesn't. Toshi will threaten the spray bottle, but both of them know full well he'd never actually use it bc! oh no! turns out that he's actually grown attached to this disaster child somehow! who could've possibly predicted this!?

Anyways, all this to say that if you're cool with it and have more forbidden hero observation tidbits lying around, I'd be super grateful if you graced us with more info! :3

hdsgjkhskg i'm always glad to give more info. (though it has been a while since i looked at my fic plan so i haven't got the best clue)

things that i do know is that izuku and toshinori eat every lunch together and that izuku's homeroom teacher is possibly present mic purely because izuku harrassed him the most as the hero observer.

izuku's in gen ed since he doesn't want to be a hero and therefor has no reason to apply for the hero course, and he missed out on having both shiny ultra rare eraserhead and toshinori as ALL MIGHT as his teachers because of that. he is extremely aggravated and unhappy with this. he doesn't WANT to be a hero but maybe it'd be funny to pit him against shinsou anyway cause he wants to be taught by eraserhead and all might so much.

shinsou finding out that his destined rival doesn't even WANT to be a hero: what the fuck is wrong with you, stop trying to get into the hero course

(izuku probably wouldn't be allowed into the course given his track record of setting traps for heroes and the fact that there's an on-going investigation going on around him in light of everything afo related in his backstory, but shinsou doesn't know this.)

aizawa (and also all the staff) probably 100% believes that izuku is all might's secret love child, since izuku does live with him after the first section of the au.

oh okay!! well, at the moment of the redraft (as far as i'm aware it'll stick like this but it is liable to change a lot) of my plot toshinori is actually next-door neighbours with izuku and inko. a lot of the plot for the first section of the au (ie. when izuku is free to do his crimes cause no one knows he is the one doing it) is centred around izuku and toshinori's relationship and the impact it has on izuku's morals and the way he catches heroes despite toshinori unknowingly causing that.

eventually though, a bit before the start of term when izuku would be starting at gen ed, he decides he is ready to trap all might and loses pathetically. toshinori and izuku have now realised wait a minute THAT'S YOU. and also izuku is now toshinori's ward cause hmm there's something suspicious about inko in a IS SHE OKAY WHAT THE FUCK DID ALL FOR ONE DO TO HER??? SUDDENLY IZUKU BEING ABLE TO BE THE HERO OBSERVER WITHOUT HER EVEN NOTICING MAKES SENSE way.

the au used to be dad for one but now it's not. inko may be a shimura. interesting...i guess that explains why afo decided to fuck them over.

For the hero observer au! All all might needs to do is put him on a good behavior chart, everyday of no crime is a all might sticker. Five days in a row means a hug. The more consecutive days, the better the prize. Last prize is secretly ofa.

All Might: My new villain son has very no morals, what could have made him like this?

*cue DFO reveal*

All Might: How did my new villain son grow up with only a mildly wonky moral compass and a special interest in kidnapping heroes, it's a miracle considering who is father is. He must have the innate spirit of a hero if AFO's influence did only this much

fun fact: at first it was dfo but after my redraft, afo still does dadding but he isn't izuku's biological dad or even married to inko.

funner fact: there is a reveal. a shimura one. afo just has it out for the shimuras.

i’m begging to know how izuku met all might in your hero observation villain au, he just? knows?? izuku plots his traps while he’s sitting beside him? asks for his input?? why doesn’t he do anything? how aggressively did this child imprint on him that he’s just willing to accept this behaviour

they met pretty much the same way as canon, except that instead of asking all might if he thinks he can be a hero, izuku asks for his input on how to get recognised as a villain and not a vigilante.

after that, it all diverges from canon. they get interrupted by kacchan and izuku saves him, which cements the start of his potential towards hero work in toshinori's mind. toshinori then loses him in the aftermath and can't intercept him like HEY WHAT DO U MEAN U WANT TO BE A VILLAIN.

they meet a few times after that (in like supermarkets and crossing the street and in parks), and toshinori loses izuku again and again at the end of every meeting. he can't exactly arrest this tiny adorable 14 year old who idolises him??

so instead he tries to lecture him on morals every time they meet and hope it works, and it DOES to some level.

izuku starts visiting heroes who accidentally got injured in their fights to give them apology flowers in the hospital and begins to employ the cookie reward for being so patient system.

GOTTA CATCH EM ALL

he's got to OKAY. he's got to,, otherwise they won't take him seriously as a villain

there are many cons to being a ofa user au for the 5+ headcanons meme

hmmm

1) toshinori has never actually been able to see the vestiges. all of the other users could, but he just couldn't. nana told him that one for all was haunted and he was like. uhh sure? and then nothing happened and it took him a while to realise that there really were ghosts there

2) vestige-might can't really do anything. he's like a carboard cut-out. he just stands in the corner menacingly, body in whatever pose the other vestiges forced him into last time. generally a t-pose. izuku has asked not vestige toshinori to stop haunting him but toshinori doesn't know how to stop

3) ghost band started shortly after nana died, back when toshinori didn't actually think the quirk was haunted. the vestiges were talking about how they should start a band, and oh no they can only do vocals. and then toshinori randomly decided to learn guitar and they thought he was doing it for them and that he could actually see them and was just ignoring them the whole time. since yoichi suggested it, second and third kicked him from the polycule and have been passive-aggressive towards him since

4) i honestly don't know much about any of the vestiges but en is really into ghost band and like any other activities they plan together. at first he was like well this is stupid, but over time he became the most set on 'well we planned to do this today, so we better do it'. whenever izuku messes up the schedule by going somewhere he hounds him every step of the way like 'ghost band should have started five minutes ago. go back. we have ghost band to get to'

5) aizawa genuinely is concerned that izuku might be a mass murderer because of all the ghosts around him. it's a genuine concern of his. it just isn't as concerning as the idea of communicating with those ghosts. he's like 'i can handle midoriya being a mass murderer but i draw the line at talking to people thirsting after me' and mic is like 'you can handle midoriya being a mass murderer???'
