since tears of the kingdom has me in a zelda mood, i remembered that years back i came up with a version of link that lived as a mercenary/bounty hunter before his call to destiny. i never did much with him but i still like the design i drew, so i've redraw it!

The beginning of Hyrule

BOTW fan comic about Zelda I’ve posted everywhere else but Tumblr. I have a lot of feelings about Zelda’s character in BOTW, and I desperately needed to make a comic exploring how she personally relates to the demon she’s working so hard to keep dormant.

thinking about skyward sword and the beds. the fact that you can go to sleep and wake up in any bed and no one says anything about it. do you think the people of skyloft have a silent pact to let link rest in their rooms or homes because, despite not knowing the extent of his quest, they know he’s lonely? with zelda gone, with link’s best friend gone, with link—who has no family—gone half the time as well, coming back visibly exhausted or wounded and every time, still alone, are the people of skyloft offering what they can: companionship? does link sleep in other people’s beds just to have that comfort of another human presence? how common of an occurrence is it? skyloft isn’t very big and link doesn’t have a home, but you can sleep in any bed at any time, and no one says anything about it—even those like cawlin and stritch who don’t seem to like link very much—and everyone knows his name, and they’re always happy to see him, and they ask about his search for zelda but don’t get angry that he hasn’t found her yet, and you can sleep in any bed. and there’s no heroes just yet. and link is seventeen. and it takes a village.

This is a very lovely and heartfelt post, but I also can’t help but headcanon that sleepy Skyward Sword Link is one hell of an immovable object. Like he just removes his sword and shield, flops right down and falls asleep immediately. Does not ask, does not wait for an answer. You gonna try to wake him? Well, just keep in mind that his hobbies include: 1) recreationally blowing himself up while playing live-action minesweeper, 2) recreationally fighting giant monsters one after another, and 3) recreationally launching himself out of a cannon pointed directly upwards, falling for like two hundred metres and then faceplanting on a roulette wheel. So just keep in mind that you’re going to have to hit pretty damn hard if you want to phase this kid. Ah, but what about pranks, you might ask? Surely it’s justified to draw all over the face of a guy that barges into your home and falls asleep on your bed? Or, you know, to swap his shield and sword with a pot lid and breadstick while he’s out? Or to stack every item in your house on him and slowly crush him with the weight? Well, that’s very brave of you, but do you REALLY want to mess with the guy that went up against god and lived to tell the tale? He may look cute, but this precious little cinnamon roll has killed before and he will kill again. Would you test him? I wouldn’t. Let sleeping Links lie. For your own health.

100 years, huh.

Hi tumblr, I’m currently working on some stuff and that’s why i’ve been away from here (and probably will stay like that for some time). 

But, since I missed posting, here’s some doodles on an AU where Link was raised by the gorons: They found him when he was still 4 or 5 years old, and took care of the boy. He can’t remember a thing from his past, but is very happy with his tribe, being closest to chief Darunia, warrior Daruk and young Yunobo. Although, he feels like the triforce mark on the back of his hand means something… And one day, destiny will call him.

He also has a very grumpy Eldin ostritch as his “horse”.
