Christine Jetpardon and the Azran Legacy.

“…are you sure this “living mummy” is real?” Melina Harmony asked. “I mean, that sounds like something out of science fiction.”

“…you were literally your girlfriend for a bit,” polonium karma said. “I don’t think cryogenic freezing of a body is that out of the question.”

“Regardless,” Christine Jetpardon said, brushing Melina’s hair, “I know that’s my husband there.”

“Is it because of some kind of soulmate thing?” Melina asked, stars in her eyes.

“It’s because his name is Desmond Sycamore, which is her husband’s name,” Karma said.

“Karma, let the girl have fun,” Christine said, finishing up braiding Melina’s hair. “Just because your affair with my husband didn’t work out doesn’t mean you get to make fun of a girl that wants to believe in true love.”

“That’s not what I-” Karma started, before taking a deep breath. “Okay, fine. I’m sorry. Now, what’s the plan?”

“You’re still in Targent’s good graces, right?” Christine asked, and Leon nodded. “You’re job is to keep up the façade of helping them. Keep getting us information, and when the time is right we turn on them.”

“And me?” Melina asked.

“You’re coming with me,” Christine said. “We’re going to stowaway on the airship bostonius. I’ve already talked with Raymond about it. He’s aware of everything. And he promised not to tell.”

“Right!” Melina said. “What will we do when we get on?”

“Oh, I’ll explain everything when we get to that point,” Christine said. “The stage is set. It’s showtime.”

at the end of Eternal Diva

Christine: Well, he’s gone now. And with that, I believe this is where our paths will split. But I have no doubt that we’ll meet again, Professor.

Hershel: Jean Descole… do you know him?

Christine: …No. I don’t. But I’m destined to confront him one of these days.

Janice: take me with you.

Christine: huh?

Janice: Take me with you on your quest to find Descole! I never got to thank him…

Luke: thank him? He almost killed me!

Janice: I know! But… he discovered this island. He created a machine that allowed my beloved Melina to live on, even if just for a short while. And he helped Mr Whistler too. And I can’t fully hate him because of those facts.

Christine: …so we are the same in that regard, it seems.

Janice: Please, let me come with you to confront Descole.

Christine: …alright. But I must bid the good Professor farewell.

Hershel: farewell, Ms Jetpardon. I’m sure our paths will cross again.

The Trio Against Targent, aka Christine’s found family.

Christine Jetpardon- Escaped from Targent after 5 years of being trapped, uses a whip she made of her own hair to take down her opponents

Melina Harmony-Took the name of her lover after she left for good, great at distractions and also at singing

Polonium Karma- not only an Ex-Targent member, but also an ex of Descole’s, he knows Targent’s tactics like the back of his hand and is prepared to serve Leon his just desserts

Random thought you may be interested in: please imagine how different pretty much everything in the Layton universe would be if it hadn't been for the existence of the Azran

Thank you for such an interesting AU premise!

The most significant part is that TARGENT don’t exist, or if they do, they’re just a bunch of regular archaeologists and not the archaeology mafia.

Leon Bronev doesn’t become consumed with his studies on the Azran. He and Rachel aren’t kidnapped by Targent. Hershel and Theodore Bronev grow up with their birth parents.

Hershel (Desmond) goes to Gressenheller University and studies to become a doctor. He eventually opens a medical practice with a Dr Raymond. Hershel eventually settles down with a family of his own. He and Theodore are still close. Descole can still exist but as a hero to Hershel’s daughter, not as a villain.

Following in his brother’s footsteps, Theodore also goes to Gressenheller, but he studies Mechanical Engineering.

He befriends a boy called Randall Layton. (Randall was adopted by Roland and Lucille Layton after his father, Mr Ascot, disowned him.) Through Randall, Theodore meets Angela and Henry.

Theodore ends up dating Claire. Theodore still gains an enemy in Don Paolo, because he still ends up dating Claire :’)

Through Claire, Theodore meets Clark and Brenda. Clark and Randall are rivals— in archaeology and also, getting Dr Schrader’s attention.

Emmy isn’t raised by Bronev— her parents survive— but she could end up becoming an assistant to Randall and they are a chaotic duo. Emmy constantly has to pull this idiot professor out of danger.

Clark and Brenda have a son, who befriends Theodore and becomes his apprentice/assistant. Luke and Emmy constantly bicker over whether Professor Bronev or Professor Layton is the better professor.

Regardless of whatever steampunk time period the PL games are set in, I think technology, medicine and science would be vastly different without the Azran discoveries…

No golems means no lifelike robots for St. Mystere. Flora’s village is filled with paid actors… or maybe Baron Reinhold calls up Arthur Cantabella and asks to borrow some brainwashed villagers.

No Azran technology means less inspiration/resources for the villains’ giant machines.

No Azran time reversal crystal means no time machine. Claire does NOT die in the time machine accident, though she is severely injured in another experiment. She survives and marries Hershel. They adopt 3 kids— Flora, Alfendi and Kat.

No Golden Garden means no cure for Arianna’s illness. (I’m so sorry, Arianna…)

No Loosha, because she’s descended from a species from Azran times, and she survived thanks to the Golden Garden.

Melina isn’t a reincarnation of the Azran queen, therefore Melina doesn’t succumb to her illness like the queen. She and Janice live happily ever after

Aurora the Azran emissary, sadly, doesn’t exist… but maybe there’s a human version of her in this universe. Maybe she and Luke become friends…

Being close friends with Dr Schrader, Professor Randall Layton and his assistant, Emmy, will be the ones to investigate the Elysian Box!

Time travel doesn’t exist but Clive Dove still wants revenge… so Clive would need to readjust his plans a little.

Clark and Brenda don’t have the same PTSD they gained from Spectre’s Call, because Descole never carried out his plan. So, the Tritons don’t move to America.

The Relic Stones in the Layton’s Mystery Journey anime are strongly implied to be from the Azran civilisation… but the Azran don’t exist so I guess that plot line never happened. Whoops. Theodore never disappears with Luke— maybe he becomes a stay-at-home dad raising the kids while Claire is out creating scientific marvels.

More stuff of the PL actors AU I imagined

This time with cutscenes fun!

Claudia actually moved a lot when Lady Dahlia's actor held him. It took a whole day for her to calm down Claudia in her arms. The scene where Dahlia appears with Claudia actually went through about 15 retakes.

Luke jumping on the sofa wasn't in the script. He was supposed to bounce on it while sitting, but Luke's actor was excited about the train filming set, so he ended up jumping on the sofa. It was so much better than what he expected.

Flora(Don Paolo) being surprised was her actor's genuine reaction. In her script it wasn't written that Professor Layton will point Flora.

This scene went through many retakes. First reason was that when Professor Layton's actor pulled the hat some of the wig fell off, second reason was that the cast laughed so loud when he took off the hat.

About the scene of Luke saving Janice, the part where he falls, spins on the machine, and jumps through wires were performed by a stunt actor. Even in the scene where he runs on the wire, he had wires hanging on him.

Speaking of wires, this scene is Professor Layton's actor hanging on wires too. And at the first take the wires went too fast and his hat flew away.

Professor Layton's actor fell on the floor on the first take of this scene. Don't worry, the floor was green screen, and he was just hanging on 7ft from the floor.

Descole throwing his cape wasn't in the script, but his actor did it because he wanted to. He just wanted to do it, that's all.

The sanctuary room is a real filming set, not CGI. Even the Azran lights were real. The only CGI was the flash when Aurora tried to put herself into the light. By the way the cast had trouble synchronizing their collapse.

Also, in this scene the background was a giant LED screen. Professor Layton and Luke's actors liked this because they didn't need to stare at a green screen and see some nice video instead.

I think I should make some of these for each game LOL.
