Curious Village but a horror game:

After his wife's death, Baron Reinhold was so heartbroken that he created a robot in her image. However, his daughter hated it so he ordered it to be destroyed.

He instead built an entire village of friendly robots so Flora would never be lonely.

Unbeknownst to him, Bruno had kept Dahlia alive, believing that he could improve her to become the perfect mother.

However, the maternal instincts in her were so strong, she became obsessed with Flora and would stop at nothing to get her.

After she killed Bruno and attempted to kidnap Flora, Augustus realised how dangerous she was.

He then locked himself and Flora in the tower where they lived peacefully until he passed away.

In the present day, Flora knows that she must leave the tower if she wants to survive.

Without Bruno, the villagers have broken down and started malfunctioning. Some are missing limbs and faces. Some constantly shake and glitch when talking. Others simply stand there, motionless. The ones who can talk simply tell Flora to "be a good girl and go home to mother."

Dahlia is only seen as a shadow, searching through the village, calling for her daughter in a soft, motherly voice.

Flora doesn't know who this woman is, or why she claims to be her dead mother, but she knows she needs to escape.

Just outside the village is a faceless man in a top hat. He speaks only in riddles and promises to help Flora escape in exchange for the Golden Apple.

She also meets a scruffy young boy, who lives alone in the woods and talks to animals. He shows her how to travel underground without being seen.

Flora must travel through the ghost town, unraveling it's secrets while avoiding her mother.

When Dahlias face is finally shown, she has changed a lot. Without Bruno she had to make her own repairs, using parts from the villagers. She is now ten feet tall, incredibly thin, with long sharp claws. I'd best describe her as looking like The Other Mother from Coraline.

After defeating Dahlia and freeing the village, Flora leaves with the mysterious gentleman, unsure of what her future has in store.
