ok listen,  at first, I was like haha  wishful thinking but now,  for many reasons I think it shouldn’t be a prequel and that they should do the Hawkeye/WS TOS arc + BW destroying the Red Room

1) Nat didn’t get a funeral, a proper goodbye

2) Clint needs to widen his circles,  he has been kind of an outsider to the team, and the only people with whom he had any relationship are Wanda and Nat

3) Bucky also needs to widen his circle beyond Steve (who is now an old man) and Sam 

4) we were never really showed Clint dealing with the consequences of brainwashing beyond a few lines, and who else to discuss this than with Bucky.  but this movie is  about Black Widow that was also brainwashed by the Red Room

5) ex brainwashed assassin spies club

6) they can still do the origin story via flashbacks with classical ballet music,  and they can also show other scenes such as when Clint was sent after her to kill her,  when she first started out at SHIELD, Strike Team Delta, BUDAPEST (also maybe Bucky training her as  the Red Room and Hydra worked together at some point?)

7) Bucky and Clint bickering,  having sniper contests

8) after interacting with Clint, Bucky sees ways that he can live a life, build relationships and also farming

9) a movie where Hawkeye can shine as his non-powered self,  without having to be outshined by powerhouses like Thor or Cap Marvel. we get to see why he’s a top agent of SHIELD, one of Fury’s most trusted, the one that was paired with the Black Widow (this has turned into a Clint deserves better post but he does  and there’s a lot of marketing marvel could have done with clint had they not been cowards),  a movie where Clint, Bucky and Nat kick butt and they are badass

10) like Fury could show up? he’s the one that sends Clint to look for what he thinks is Natasha.  also a line like “what about Coulson’s team” “they are busy with—”  which would serve as an acknowledgement that Clint and Nat knew about Coulson being revived and that he had a team. Fury is also the one to make Clint and Bucky team up because either the red room worked with hydra in the past thus Bucky has some knowledge on the red room or simply because the red room operates like hydra

11) a movie that has bucky, nat and clint center stage, where we get to see more on who they are as their own self,  an not as either a plot device, a background characer, or as someone’s platonic love interest

12) Nat destroys most of the red room, bucky and clint hunt her, they reunite for the final battle and blow up the base

13) the movie focuses on friendship and platonic love
