No lack of competition for this dubious laurel, but I think out of all the Imperial incompetence on display in the Imperial Armour Siege of Vraks series, the single most egregious, impossible-to-suspend-disbelief, incoherently stupid, what-army-could-ever-behave-this-way moment is when it is revealed that the 88th Siege Army has made zero provision for aerial or even anti-aircraft capability.

Not some random isolated company, the entire several million man army.

Impossible

Four or five years ago when I set out to do an Imperial Guard army I'd intended to do a mixed army of many regiments, with resin Death Korps miniatures strategically integrated in key places. I had Steel Legion minis for troops, some Vostroyans for special weapons, Tempestus Scions for elites, regular plastic vehicles, and the Death Korps for things like command squads, commissars, and tank commanders.

But over time it's been consolidating into a resin Death Korps army, and now the only plastic kits I've got left are three Basilisks and a Baneblade.

I feel that the logic dictates that I sell off those Basilisks and that Baneblade

but...

I like Basilisks

and that Baneblade

the real logic is this: Baneblades and Basilisks are cool. Therefore, keep 'em. The Emperor hath bestow'd these tools upon you, that ye may smite His foes most righteously! Spurn not His largesse!

damn, so true bestie

the Emperor protects

For all intents and purposes, I have switched over to Battletech from 40k.

However I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 40k stuff. Maybe some of the stuff I never unboxed, sure. But all the stuff I painted and worked hard to kitbash? That's probably staying with me.

Kotobukiya 1/100 Metal Gear REX, completed in 2015, in honor of the 18th anniversary of the Shadow Moses Incident on 28 February, 2005

Reposting for anniversary of Metal Gear Solid’s release in Japan on September 3, 1998

I literally just bought and assembled the metal gear ray version, the decals make me nervous

REX didn’t have decals. Gotta say that one looks pretty good, though I wish they’d done the Marines version with the tail

Makes me want to pull my half size 3A Metal Gear Rex out of the box again.
