WIP Wednesday??

So, not exactly Wednesday anymore, but @coffeebanana tagged me. Outside of Aftermath this is the only thing, I've made progress on. It's part of my last entry to Adrino week (which took place this last June. Shhh!) and it keeps changing! I'm having fun torturing Nino this week. ...

Nino had always prided himself on being a pretty chill dude. He accepted others the way they were, and tried to let things roll off his shoulders. In the past that had always been easy. 

Lately, Nino was anything but chill. 

Things that used to never bother him now rubbed at his skin like sandpaper. 

He and Alya had broken up, and he wasn’t totally sure what had happened there, but he knew that he missed her, and seeing her was hard, but being with her when she was lying about something was harder. 

Then, Adrien was moving away to London. He seemed excited about the prospect of living with his cousin. And Nino wanted to be happy for him. He was happy for him. But Nino had never had a friend like Adrien before, and he didn’t know how to make another one. And so he was positively dreading the day he had to go to school when Adrien wouldn’t be there.

Then, his father had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and everyone kept telling him that the prognosis of this particular kind of cancer was usually really good. His dad would likely fully recover. 

Probably. 

But it turned out that probably only worked when you were diagnosed early, and his dad hadn’t been to the doctor in years. The cancer had already spread throughout his whole body - even into his bones.

“There’s nothing else we can do except make him comfortable,” the doctors said. 

“How long?” his maman asked. 

“Months.”

So yeah, Nino was having a really hard time being chill.
