@parismystere hiatus day 15 you’re going through it i see

#i was going through my laptop and i remembered freaking about this when hack-san aired#i didn’t have a ladyblog back then so i lived on a high for a week by myself#it’s the same look! the same heart eyes! the same amount of softness! the look for her crush is the same look for her kitty!#i was just running on a week of my brain screaming SHE LOVES HIM SHE LOVES HIM SHE LOVES HIM#hack-san was truly the most heartbreaking episode of the season and it doesn’t get acknowledged nearly enough as such#you know the funny thing is that while this summer was the peak of the ‘omg alya is replacing chat’ drama in fact in optigami and#sentibubbler it was alya replaced marinette as marinette was trapped in both episodes and then in hack-san she replaced lb#ladybug was planning for a future in which alya takes over her duties but she never planned for anybody else to be chat noir#and on adrien’s side it’s so heartbreaking because all his life is people leaving him (alone). his mother (!!!) just disappeared one day.#so i think it’s very human to want adrien to be angry and confront ladybug we also need to keep in mind that he loves her so much#and not just as a crush. and ladybug’s replacement only reminded him of his mom and how he doesn’t even know ladybug’s face#i’m just happy that canon brought the beauty the tragedy of ladynoir the absolute trust in someone whose name you don’t even know#if something happens they WILL lose each other. we know that the red string of fate does its job but for a brief horrible moment they will#both be left in the dark not even knowing if the other’s alright#and maybe that’s something that needs to happen in canon especially on marinette’s side#maybe marinette needs to try to imagine who chat noir is and what his life is like and if he’s happy and healthy#she loves him but she needs to open up to their love. she needs to accept the love in her and the love from him.#she needs to realize that she loves 2 boys and then that by some stupid dumb luck the 2 boys are the same boy#and by even dumber luck that boy loves her back and is always willing to stand in front of her with his heart wide open#anyway

the fact that Ladybug wasn’t replacing Chat Noir with Alya but was actually replacing Herself in Optigami and Sentibubbler is such a good point bc this season really has been taunting Chat Noir with the idea of life without Ladybug again and again from the very start

1. it started subtly with the day she missed their patrol and he was left moping and patrolling on his own in Truth/Lies

2. then he was confronted with the fact that Ladybug would lose all their memories together and forget him entirely if she gave up the guardianship in Furious Fu

3. then he was presented with the terrifyingly familiar possibility of Ladybug simply giving up her mantle one day and disappearing from his life forever in Hack San

4. and finally, he’s grappling w/ the idea of Ladybug simply not needing/wanting him as a partner anymore - that maybe their partnership wasn’t as special to her as it was to him (which We know isn’t true)

It really feels like this is all leading up to something separating the two of them - maybe not a fight/fallout like many people seem to think it’s going to be, but something that’s gonna hurt

But if watching shoujo romance anime taught me anything, it’s that it’s always times like these, when the main couple seems like it’s being pulled apart and the heroine loses/is about to lose her boy, that she realizes/accepts her true feelings for him goes after him. With Marinette being as oblivious to feelings as she is, in denial about Chat Noir, and stubborn as a rock, it only makes sense that it’d take something dramatic to shake things up and make her confront her true feelings

Ok I didn’t make a hack san post yesterday but that changes now cuz aghhhhh y’all just.... STILL THINKING ABOUT LADYNOIR YESTERDAY

WHEN LADYBUG SAID “I’LL NEVER ABANDON YOU” IN THE CHAT BLANC SUNSET AND WHEN CHAT TALKED ABOUT LOSING LADYBUG IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN BC HE DOESN’T KNOW HER IDENTITY LIKE… THAT WAS SUCH A RANDOM MENTION… AND THE CREATOR’S SAID THE SEASON FINALE WOULD BE SAD AND LEAVE US SHOCKED LIKE. WHAT IF THEY  LOSE EACH OTHER IN THE FINALE (like in @buggachat​‘s bakery to enemies au lmao) AND THAT KICKS OFF SEASON 5

UM…. BYE YALL-

I think it’s be more likely that she’s lose her memory. I don’t know if that makes you feel better or worse, but that’s what I was thinking at the end of the scene.

"Out for a solo patrol, Chat Noir?"

Chat Noir jumped slightly, not quite use to hearing an unfamiliar voice up here on the rooftops, and turned. The figure was standing on a chimney a ways from him, the reds of her costume matching the setting sun.

"Scarabella?" Chat Noir said, looking at the temporary Ladybug heroine he had met the other day. His surprise quickly gave way to worry, eyes widening slightly. "Did something happen to Ladybug? Is there an akuma out right now? Is–"

Scarabella held up her hands, but didn't come closer. "No no no, everything is okay– I just wanted to talk to you, that's all, and Ladybug said you often did some patrols in the evening..."

He gave a tight smile, shoulders relaxing slightly. "Not really a patrol, not like what me and M'Lady do when we patrol. It's just... to get some fresh air, I suppose."

I’m really wondering what’ll happen with the Ladynoir conflict now. I always assumed that the last straw would be Chat finding out that Ladybug revealed her identity to someone else and didn’t tell him, but that’s been settled. I don’t really know what the breaking point for him would be, if that wasn’t it. Maybe Ladybug appearing to abandon him? Looks like he’ll be mostly alone for Family MAtters, so that might be it.

The thing is that Adrien has seemed entirely immune to any long-term anger thus far in the show. Sure, he has short-term outbursts, but after those are over, he forgets and forgives. (Something something growing up with a father who constantly hurt and disappointed him, something something.)

I have a feeling the Ladynoir conflict will be more moved to the edge by Ladybug realizing just how much she hurt him, and letting that impact her out of guilt and fear. So much of the Ladynoir conflict is caused by Marinette’s emotional blindspots and he tendency to only look for short-term solutions, and I do believe she’d be devastated at knowing that she hurt him, especially when she believes that she’s the one who hurt him into akumatization during Chat Blanc.

I think you were part of a post I saw earlier about how they don’t have a reason not to akumatize Marinette anymore, but I did see that post and I do believe it’s true. If Scarabella is really foreshadowing – or, more accurately, establishing the mechanics (potato potahto) – for how a Marinette akumatization would go, then it follows that Alya’s “You should talk to Chat Noir” (paraphrasing) is foreshadowing for how the akumatization will eventually happen.

I still think Adrien would be pretty upset if Marinette told him (as Adrien) that she was Ladybug, like during a confession or something, before she told Chat Noir.  But in Wishmaker, he didn’t seem angry anymore. Just resigned.  I don’t know exactly how it’s going to go down! But I’m excited!!
