dared not to remember your name (you found me anyway)
He could buy all the beds in this resort, together with all the chairs, desks, and wardrobes. Heck, he could pay for all the furniture on this damn island. Together with its few resorts.
Why the hell was he standing in the middle of the villa he personally booked over a month ago, fighting for the bed with a girl he’d never seen before?
Granted, a very beautiful girl, but that hardly mattered, given her attitude.
“My parents gave me this vacation for my graduation,” the girl hissed, crossing her delicate arms over her chest and glaring daggers his way. “This is my room, and I have a reservation to prove it!”
“And I have my reservation to prove the opposite,” Adrien seethed through his teeth. They’d been at it for the last ten minutes, and it was starting to get exhausting. He hadn’t slept a wink in the previous thirty-six hours, was starving and jetlagged. Not to mention, this was his very first vacation in years; coincidently, his last week of freedom: the last seven days before he’d have to start working at Gabriel, which would make it impossible to avoid dealing with his father during the day (his evenings had been his personal hell for years already). He did not want to start this by flying across the globe to be kicked out of his villa before he could even move in.
Was this what he got for finally ‘trying to enjoy his life instead of merely existing’ as Nino had put it?
Adrien would happily go back to his nightmarish routine. At least that was predictable.
The door behind him creaked as the resort’s manager slipped in.
“Oh, perfect! You’re here.” The girl straightened, the fire in her eyes intensifying. “Sir, please, tell this man, this is my villa and I’d like for him to leave.”
The manager held his hands in front of him as if he was about to walk on glass. His voice shook when he’d finally spoken. “Actually, there was a little mishap—”
“See?” Adrien smirked. “I told you it was my villa. I requested this one specifically for its views.”
“That’s not it, sir,” the manager almost whispered.
The girl grinned. “See? It’s mine! Told you so!”
“It’s both of yours!” the manager yelled and shrunk in on himself, his head almost disappearing into his shoulders.
