Batfamily Beauty and the Beast AU where Bruce is the beast and with every child he adopts he becomes slightly more and more human.
He finds Dick in the woods, sobbing over the loss of his parents. A year later, he looks in the mirror and wonders if he's only imagining that he's gotten shorter.
Jason sneaks into the castle and steals a loaf of bread, hungry and desperate. Bruce takes him in and offers him a proper meal. As he's putting his new son to bed one night, he notices that his claws have shrunk.
Tim marches into the castle and demands Bruce take him, knowing the stories of the monster who kidnaps children. Bruce's snout feels flatter than it used to when he presses a kiss to his forehead.
Cassandra lasts a full two weeks before anyone even notices she's there. The fur on Bruce's arms begins to thin as he holds her close, and she smiles up at him.
Tim brings home Stephanie, who loudly insists that she does not need nor want a new father. His skin grows less leathery, and the beginnings of crows feet appear on the corners of his eyes.
Damian is brought to them by Talia, rigid and wary of everything, convinced of his birthright as the Bat's heir. The fangs in Bruce's mouth seem to smooth over as he learns to gentle his speech.
The day Duke joins the family, still reeling from the plague that claimed his parents, something clicks. Bruce steps out, and before them stands a perfectly human man, finally made whole by his love for his children.

Like all ideas for media this is subjective but I think pretty accurate to these characters as I’ve read up on them and as I understand their characters
Hey guys, do y'all know how Tim is a social chameleon? I think that doesn't get used too often tbh
like there's a lot of angst potential with Tim not knowing his true personality because he's always adapting to the people surrounding him or not knowing how to be himself around other people because his real personality is so different from what he shows other people
But then there's also people just watching him going from pathetic wet cat to funny jock guy and wanting to test him for possession or smth
Imagine the first time like Dick picks him up from school and to his absolute shock Tim's like surrounded by people and he's just talking to a million people. That's not his baby bird, his baby bird had hissed at his team mates yesterday and was physically incapable of talking to people without making it sound like a riddle
He pretends that everything's okay until they get to the manor and frantically calls Zatana because "My baby brother is possessed fucking get here."

damian is surprisingly good at playing a non traumatised ten year old. at first he doesn’t understand why he would need to ever play the part until he watches his family act at a gala. he now understands the mission to protect their identities.
he slips into the role easily. he acts shy around strangers and soft around his siblings. even going so far as to let them carry him around. if he notices someone is uncomfortable or not overwhelmed he will walk up to his father with puppy dog eyes taught to him by grayson and say “father i’m tired” the other members of gotham high society will coo at his formal words and father will scoop him up before collecting his other siblings.
he’s also unsurprisingly good at fake crying. (i mean look at the poor kid and all his trauma)

I am obsessed with the idea of Dick Grayson, recently become Nightwing, finding out about Jason being Robin and wanting to be angry at him but then Jason is a ball of sunshine and it melts Dick’s icy anger out before he even says a word.
Like imagine him going to complain about it to the Titians!
Wally: so how was meeting the new kid?
Dick(annoyed): it was horrible! He’s so precious!!
Roy: is that juxtaposition?
Dick: how am I meant to be angry at him for taking my place… when he goes and says “Robin is Magic”! And now what?! Am I meant to say that little boy doesn’t deserve that magic?! That little ball of sunshine that could probably power superman better than our sun does!? He deserves it!
Donna: so you’re still annoyed because?
Roy: he’s angry that he can’t be angry.

Dick decides if he can't be angry at Jason, he'll be angry at Bruce.
Dick: You better not let anything happen to this little angel, or so help me!
And since Dick was targeting his anger towards Bruce for bring Jason into vigilantism, it only makes it worse when he comes back from his off world mission to learn that Jason, his angelic little brother, had his wings clipped by the Joker, and he didn't know, he wasn't able to help his little Wing as the light of his life was snuffed out. And Bruce didn't even wait for his return before having the funeral, Dick didn't even get to see his brother.
Although Jason probably had a closed casket because of his injuries from the bomb, it probably would have helped Dick in some way to see his brother again. As someone who has had a family member pass, the death doesn't really hit you, the fact that you'll never see them again, never feel their hugs... it doesn't really hit you until you see them lying there, motionless in the coffin, ice cold. It hurts, but from my experience, it is necessary to solidify in your mind that they are gone, it is necessary to help move on, to continue living without wallowing in sorrow.

....so I honestly only meant this to be light-hearted, you know, Dick not being able to be angry at Jason "Robin is magic" Todd, and instead it got really sad really quick... Oops.
