After reading thousands of crossover fanfiction, I have come to one hypothesis:
Crossovers with DC involved are the best and most popular.
Please note that this hypothesis is not tested. Thus, if you are not as motivationally deficient as me, I urge you to conduct your own research to either prove or disapprove my null hypothesis.

because my favorite ship for Jason Todd is now Jazz Fenton!!!! I can literally think of NO ELSE I’d like him to date, settle down, and marry than this cartoon character from a teenage ghost show! No Pre made character is suitable enough. If I made up an OC, she’d probably end up like Jazz with a different name.
BUT
I saw this post about how there should be no ship wars cuz of the multiverse in comics so everything I want is canon and everything you want is canon, we just stay in our respective earths, don’t try to remake each other’s earth in our image. So that’s good news because that means Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown are together forever in my earth!☺️ And Dick Grayson is forever with Bea Bennett!!😁

Is... Is this not how others see it?? It's why I love crossovers and AUs so much lololol. In my brain, they're all just different universes. Even those that look near identical, are different universes based on who their "god" (author) is. Some gods govern more than one universe, some share bits and pieces of theirs to try and inspire other gods.
I, for one, have multiple universes that sometimes have sub universes and fusion universes around them.
It's why I only get into fights when someone tries to invalidate a "universe" because it doesn't align with another "universe". If you don't wanna know about these universes, then ignore them and stick to your own because the multiverse is infinite and inevitable!

When you read the story because it's NSFW smut but stayed because the story is actually heartwrenchingly good and now we're sobbing because we didn't read the notes at the beginning that said "I'm sorry English is not my first language"
On one hand, fanfiction is making my health worse by making me stay up late and run away from reality
On the other hand, fanfiction is the only thing keeping me going and reality sucks
Honestly mom, nothing is perfect and as imperfect these man made literary pieces are, they're no different from the classical books you're making me read
I need people to stop calling their crossover ships, crack ships.
If you shipped those two even if they never met, you probably have a very good reason to. No matter how dumb, it's a good reason.
And sure, we can use the ship for crack fics, but I assure you I can use them just as much in angst, fluff, and the most tear jerking fanfiction you have ever read. That "crack ship"? Might as well be someone's favorite ship that they never knew they needed! I mean look at Jelsa! That ship raised a whole generation! I would know.
There are no crack ships. Just crack fics with ships.
