A lot of times, we pick out our makeup look depending on how we’re feeling that day. I know for me anyway, my makeup is usually intertwined with mood — mostly because it’s a form of self expression…you’re expressing your feelings on the outside, you know? Hope that makes sense.  Anyway, I just wanted to share some really pretty makeup looks I’ve been loving lately. I’ve been really wanting to…

1. Self tan if desired. If you want that golden glow but can’t lay out in the sun without turning into a lobster, then self-tanner might be for you. Jergens (pictured above) is from the drugstore and is really popular because there’s one for your body and your face. Follow the directions on the bottle for application and you should be good to glow!
2. Prime time. Choose a primer if you need it. Mattifying works well for oily skin, while luminizing works best for dry skin. Mattifying will make sure there’s no shine on your face, whereas luminizing will help your face glow.
3. Sunscreen always. It’s necessary, you know? Neutrogena has some sheer ones if you’re worried about messing up your makeup.

1.   Mermaid eyes. Deep blues like the ocean, plums like fresh berries, greens like the palms…you get the idea, right? Vibrant jewel tones are in for summer! Apply one all over the lid, or go more subtle with liner. You can even blend some for your own unique look! 2. Bold lips. Try hot pink, coral or even tomato red. Obviously don’t pair it with the colorful eyes or else you may veer into clown-ish territory, but one bolder color is fine. Like this look below:
3. Bronze for the win. Duh, it’s a summertime staple for a reason. 4.   HAIR
5.   Sleep in, get waves. Braid damp hair at night into loose braids, then shake them out in the morning for easy waves.
6. Tease and texture. Try out a texturizing spray or a sea salt spray to enhance your waves, or give life to straighter locks. Tease the top a little bit for some lift and to match the grittier texture on the bottom.
7. Updos are your new BFF. Seriously, they keep frizz at bay but also look super cute or chic depending on how you style it. Try braids, buns or ponytails. Slicked back hair is more sophisticated, whereas a few tendrils feel more soft.

1. Go bold or go home. Neon orange, lemon yellow, lime green, aqua or fuschia — try them all! Your nails are the one place you can really do anything!
2. Design it. Try stripes or dots for a classic look, or do zigzags and criss cross for a cooler look. Black and white always work, but don’t be afraid to incorporate colors into the creation too!
3. Stay inspired. Ocean blues, sunshine yellows…sparkles or shimmer to match your highlight…use what you love about summertime and incorporate it into your nails. Think sunset ombre or wave designs!
