👻 Cont. of my Ghosts breakdown:

“She’s my PaRtNeR. So if you know something that’s putting her in danger, then I need to know. Now.” - Jay “concerned about his work wife Hailey” Halstead, everybody ⬆️

Also I’m soft Hailey came as soon as she could for Jay and the first thing she asks is “what’s wrong? You okay?” I LOVE A CONCERNED WORK WIFE ⬆️

Oooooof. This hurt me. Those photos are intense & heartbreaking. Then Jay’s “What the hell happened?” You could hear it in his voice that he sort of knew, but he needed to hear it from Hailey. He owed her that much, you know? 🥺 and don’t even get me started on Hailey’s look to him. GOD SHE FELT SO BETRAYED AND HURT AND WAS IN DISBELIEF. 😖 Tracy deserves an Emmy for that look alone, okay?! ⬆️

Again w/their in sync looks and their married couple like fights. ⬆️

But in all seriousness, what was so important about this scene (IMO) was that even though Hailey couldn’t look Jay in the eye as she told him about NYE, she told him. She opened up to him, she let him in so he could help her. Just like he let her in to help him in 5x10. I also always loved that the writers used some of the same dialogue too ⬆️

JAYS SAD FACE. even after patted his shoulder(? chest? - idk we didn’t see it onscreen but she had moved forward after telling him she was fine, and that’s why he was looking down partially.) ⬆️ but he was also looking down because he was ☹️ SO SAD FOR HER. aaaaaand he prolly wanted to kill Booth. I mean his voice when he asked her “Did he?” was a dead giveaway. ⬆️

And can I also say that I adore that their partnership dynamic didn’t change? They were still checking in with each other, being there for each other. Hell, even the argument was very “Upstead-ish” y’know? It all works. Because they work.
