Tim Bradford on The Rookie has had a great character arc. He’s gone from being the total asshat in 1x01 to being an understanding sergeant in season 4. Sure, some of that anger was due to his personal issues (e.g: his now ex-wife Isabel) but he got through it and ultimately learned from his mistakes (remember his apology in s3 for the pilot ep remarks?). Not only has his character developed but so have his bonds with the rest of the LAPD Mid Wilshire police - especially with his rookie-turned-P2-turned-sergeant’s-aide Lucy Chen. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for him the rest of the season. Plus, Eric Winter plays him perfectly - no one else could do it IMO.
“I don’t care if he’s your boyfriend—”
“He’s not.”
vs.
“...never once have I heard you call him your boyfriend.”
“Look, maybe Emmett treated the relationship like it didn’t matter because you treated it like it didn’t matter.”
😬 just saying. the progression...or should I say lack thereof in Lucy’s relationship (& Tim’s opinion of it) makes me realize why things w/Emmett ended & why Rachel hasn’t been brought up again. I mean, Lucy knew it’d be “a cold day in Hell” before Tim drove anyone to LAX, (in 2x20) & even though he ended up saying to her he wanted to make it work — he even admitted he’d planned all day to say goodbye. & now? Lucy’s what he’s saying hello too. 😊
PS: Tim knows he (Emmett) “wasn’t the right guy for her” & so guess who IS? The man who’s gonna be dancing w/her at the Wopez wedding tomorrow night!! S3 finale here we come! 😄🙌🎉💪❤️

TIM BRADFORD’S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. 🙌👏 WOW.
Bravo Eric Winter, truly amazing. But also the ways in which the writers have adapted stories to fit Tim’s ever changing persona is brilliant.
