once it wasn’t in this gloomy condition. it had a clear and wide facade, long windows that were always open, and freshly laundered curtains. the lawn it overlooked was daily tended, the hedges were pruned, and the landlady’s favorite flowers were planted according to the seasons. the woods at the back hid a small lake, and not far away a greenhouse.

now, rose mansion, no longer looked like a kind house. it had taken on the semblance of a place of despair, not meant to be lived in, not fit for people, hope or love. it had become an uppity, alive, evil house.

they arrived toward the end of a mid-june afternoon. they turned into the driveway, and the crunch of the car’s wheels startled the crows clustered in the treetops, which took off cawing around the house.

“what do you think, buddy?” the young man closed the car door behind him before helping a little copy of himself out of the passenger side. “it’s old,” the boy wrinkles his nose, making the man beside him smile.

it wasn’t the first time you’d seen him. a few months earlier he had walked around the halls and rooms of rose mansion with a woman who showed him around the house, step by step, room by room and secret by secret, with amusing talk. he was wearing a dark coat, and his hair was falling over his forehead in a messy way. he looked like he was going through a rough period.

“it’s not old,” toji laughed, taking his child’s hand, “it’s vintage.” he didn’t seem to believe his own words much either. “hey, i know, it’s an ugly, old … old house,” he chuckles opening the front door, “but it’s a new beginning, for us.”

You run your fingers lightly across Baekhyun’s caramel skin, getting lost in the sound of his heartbeat beneath your ear.

Baekhyun’s eyes are closed, thoroughly worn out from your lovemaking. The sun kisses his dark lashes, casting shadows on his slim face.

He’s not asleep, though - his plump lips curl into a smile when you press your fingers into the hollow of his collarbone.

“This is my favourite part of your body,” you whisper, kissing the flushed skin.

Baekhyun’s melodious laugh tickles your ears. You don’t have to see his face to know that he’s smirking.

Baekhyun rolls you over so that he’s lying on top of you, all trace of tiredness gone from his handsome face. “Are you sure about that, Y/n?”

Baekhyun buries his head in the crook of your neck and presses kisses to your throbbing skin. “Are you sure it’s not my sexy lips?” he murmurs.

Your heart starts to race, but you shake your head no.  

Baekhyun caresses your chest, his long fingers circling your nipples and tracing down your ribs, lingering in the grooves.

His voice drops an octave lower. “Are you sure it’s not my talented hands?”  

You shake your head again, biting your lips to keep in the moan that threatens to erupt.

“Are you sure?” Baekhyun elongates the last word as his fingers hook the lace of your panties, tugging them down your legs.

He kisses down your tummy and squeezes the soft flesh, moaning appreciatively at the feeling. He dips lower, his velvety lips caressing your navel.

“God Baekhyun, the things you do to me,” you whisper. You know your words are only stroking his ego, but he does look so sexy when he’s satisfied with himself.

Baekhyun’s mocha eyes twinkle as he looks up at you, and his pouty lips curl up in a smirk. He stalks up your body so he’s lying flush on top of you.

“Are you sure it’s not my…” Baekhyun grinds his hips into yours, letting you feel exactly what he means.

“I’m so glad it’s you who’s doing my makeup.” He grinned at you cheekily, and you felt your face heat up.

While your shaking hands dabbed his eyes with shadow and his cheeks with foundation, Baekhyun flashed you flirty smiles, and told you how pretty you were.

His unwavering attention was beginning to affect you. Your spine tingled every time he accidentally brushed his long fingers over your bare thighs.

It was time to apply his lip look. But you were so worked up that every time you tried to smear the gloss, it refused to look “kissed”, and you had to start again.

“You know…” Baekhyun began, as you wiped his lips clean for the third time. “I think you’re going about this the wrong way.” His eyes glimmered mischievously.

Your very sleepy boyfriend greeted you the morning of his birthday with a soft kiss to your forehead. Ruffling your hair, he followed you down the halls of the concert venue to a free lobby near the dressing rooms.

Plopping down face first onto one of the couches, Baekhyun groaned in exhaustion, completely ignoring the fact that he was still wearing his shoes and backpack. 

“Come on, babe,” you said, pulling his arm to get him to sit up to no avail, “you need to eat now or else you won’t feel like it later.” You were a little concerned that he was so tired, assuming that he was staying up late gaming again. “What time did you text me that you were going to sleep?”

His muffled response came from underneath the cushions. “Maybe like, 1 in the morning.”

“Uh huh, and what time did you actually go to bed?”

Still lying down, Baek’s face turned sheepishly towards you. “Three hours later…”

You laughed and crouched down to give him a peck on the nose. “I think I found the reason you’re so sleepy,” you teased. Finally able to rouse him from his position, you sat next to Baekhyun and opened his take out for him. On concert days, you kind of felt the need to take care of everything for him, only because of the fatigue he experienced once it was over. Time to be a good girlfriend, you thought with a little pride, because you knew you were.

As his head rested on your shoulder, he hummed and mumbled a tune as you stirred his food for him. “I don’t deserve you, you know that right?” Those kind words came out as naturally as if you two were talking about the weather.

You nudged him with your shoulder gently. “OK, honey, time to wake up,” you coaxed, thinking of the best way to answer him. Before he could dig into his food, you told him what you had come up with. “I need someone to love me, and that’s what you do. You need someone to love you, and I’m here to do that for you.”

 With a drowsy but confounded facial expression, Baekhyun pondered you words until he could only think to respond by giving you a kiss. He was wide awake by the time he pulled away. “I guess that’s what makes us a great pair,” he chuckled.

You didn’t mean for it to slip out of your mouth, but it was out before you could stop it.

Your words hung stagnant in the air, as the four sets of eyes in front of you turned to look away from where you stood in the doorway. No one spoke.

You were frozen in place, shock glueing your feet to the wood floor. You’d come up here expecting to have a decently horrific time explaining yourself to Minji, not to be faced by four of your best friends.
