okay so theres a post floating around about cherno alpha’s number of kills only numbering six, in comparison to other jaegers (who average seven to eleven kills for approximately the same amount of time in service), and the comments put this down to two things

tbh both of these ideas ring pretty much true - especially the second one, given the history of invasions into russia (cough cough the nazis) - but, even with all that, six kaijus managed to get through to actually be killed off by cherno and the kaidanovskys. if the climate was off putting, this must mean that the kaijus that did get through were tougher than normal. on top of that, given that kaijus have a hivemind structure, any kills would have been relayed back to the kaijus waiting to come through, so the ones that tried to get to russia were bolder than the rest

so essentially its fairly likely that cherno alpha faced up to some of the toughest, boldest kaijus to come through the rift

basically, cherno alpha is awesome
