Folks, I gotta be real with you: Yes I too am disappointed that there aren't more choices carrying over in The Veilguard from the last three games, but I think the current fandom rage is a little over the top. It's not the end of the world. Can we just take a breath for a second and remember that this new game is set in Northern Thedas, where 99% of decisions made in Southern Thedas ten or more more years ago of course aren't going to matter, if you think about it? And on a meta level, I imagine the goal is to make this game as friendly as possible to brand new players, not out of spite towards existing fans.

book from the sky (tianshu) xu bing, 1989-91
I was so excited to see a copy of this in real life bc it's something I studied in art history. this is a book that was typeset and printed by hand using wooden blocks but every one of the characters was invented for the sake of the piece and does not correspond to any word in the Chinese language
yes. he invented and hand carved 4000 characters. it is a CRAZY project that resulted in an intentionally unreadable book. I love it
Xu Bing you're legendary to me !!!!
Found a thread of Finns disscusing this --- some of which had heard it before and some of whom had not -- but most agreed that it was more common to hear cottage cheese called "minced Moonin."
Oh no this is worse

In summary: keypad locks on dressing rooms so no one can just wander in, panic buttons in areas where dancers are alone with customers, required education re: safety issues, handling /preventing sexual harassment, and identifying & stopping human trafficing. Clubs must have security on site and a written policy for handeling drunk or agressive clients. On the money side clubs are limited in how much of a dancer's payment they can take as their "fee" but they are allowed to sell liquor now which should make up for any lost profit.
This should make clubs physically safer and give employees more financial stabiliy/ make wage theft more difficult.
While the Onion buying InfoWars is indeed extremely funny, very few of the posts I've seen commenting on the sale have mentioned that the families of the Sandy Hook victims apparently agreed to voluntarily reduce their lawsuit payout as part of a deal to ensure that the Onion would acquire InfoWars wholesale, rather than having the company broken up and auctioned off piecemeal, as the latter course could potentially have allowed some of those pieces to end up back in the hands of Alex Jones' cronies.
Like, yes, it is in fact very funny that InfoWars is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Onion, but the real props go out to the Sandy Hook families who saw the opportunity and willingly gave up the additional millions of dollars that could have been realised by stripping InfoWars for parts in order to make that happen.
(EDIT: Fixed a sentence incorrectly suggesting that Clickhole is still affiliated with the Onion – it totally slipped my mind that they'd sold it back in 2020.)
