when i was a kid, every collection of books—large or small, public or private—had at least one small grubby volume called “fifty japanese fairy tales” “african folk tales” “who’s a-knockin at my door and other scary stories” “haunting mysteries of the sea” “golden threads: slavic fairy stories” “the unabridged grimm’s fairy tales,” and that book would contain at least one short story bizarre and haunting enough to permanently rewire your brain. and babey i was a fucking bloodhound hunting them down
There was one in an otherwise forgettable Japanese folklore anthology about a guy fell in love with a woman, was absolutely not going to bang him.
So he decided the only way to deal was to fall out of love by seeing her at most gross. Naturally, this meant stealing the contents of her toilet. Unfortunately for him, she had planned for this and had created fake faeces out of cosmetics and fake urine out of perfume.
He ate them and then died of unrequited love.

New Kabuki “Final Fantasy X" presented by Kinoshita Group was performed live at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo theater from March 4th to April 12th of 2023. After live performances ended, an official recording of the show with full English subtitles was made available for rent for a limited time, from July 19th to October 31st of 2023.
Since November 1st, 2023, however, the show has been completely unavailable for further streaming or purchase. Fortunately, someone recorded the show when they rented it.
