On the other hand The Irregulars had a gay Watson and Netflix is really open to lgbtq topics so I wouldn’t doubt it completely but I would be careful

How do you know Watson will be in it? Where was it confirmed?

Sorry for dragging your answer out here but I have so many thoughts on your answer, because I agree SO hard!

Like, whatever people might say about TJLC one thing that still makes sense today: John Watson: bisexual/ Sherlock Holmes: gay or acearo or gay asexual (if you feature a queer Sherlock Holmes/John Watson dynamic)

But making John Watson gay in The irregulars, erasing his canon (!) female love interest and making Sherlock Holmes bisexual by giving him a female love interest he never (!) had in the books is so paradox!

Y‘all want to see Sherlock Holmes kiss a woman so bad it makes you look dumb

He never! Had any interest in Irene! Is anyone reading the canon books these days?

Same goes for enola. I headcanon her as bi, but ace also works really well for her. Whatever she is, girls not straight, but because she is the main lead she needs to end up with a box she never even told her name in the books! And Sherlock also needs to kiss a woman because ✨straight people ✨

Seriously if the rumors are true… which are often not true btw, I will be so mad

Especially because there is still no John Watson casted.

In conclusion: no matter if the rumors are true or not, if I see enola kiss a boy and Sherlock kiss a woman I will riot

I wish we would have more adapatations taking Sherlocks drug use seriously

In RDJ his drug use is only implied two times at the beginning if both movies and allways played for laughs

In Granada his drug use is treated like in the books (and edited out in the german translation lol) so we see John disapproving with it but never a real development of John taking the drugs actievly away from Sherlock

In BBC the effects of Sherlocks drug use are shown really drastic but actually only for shook reasons. We never see John (or the show) in general taking a consequence out of it. And kidnapping Sherlock in a car and bringing him to therapy, while playing it for the laughs... is miles away from the treatment i want to see for his drug use

It gets ignored in Enola and transformed in an addiction to sweets in Miss Sherlock

Elementary is the only adaptation i know so far where Joan actively helps Sherlock to get away from drugs. But more importantly who, everytime Sherlock around drugs, is checking on him. Or throws them into the toilet in lightspeed and is ready to tackle Sherlock before he comes even near the drugs. And sends him to group thearpy

I want more of that. And I am really curious how The Irregulars will treat Sherlocks drug use but I am afraid they will only play it for the drama and not dig deeper into it
