Them!
I think it is hilarious how Hayao Miyazaki tried SO HARD to make Sherlock Hound season 1 a fun little Sherlock Holmes adaptation, suitable for regular TV with soft topics etc.
But it only took him only one season to fall into old habits. So season 2 is like: People might be burning alive in this building! Also Moriarty tries to shot Holmes in cold blood."
Season 2 is so SO good and gets better with every episode
Hayao Miyazaki: If my leading women do not know how to handle an aircraft, then whats the point?
Moriarty finally not being the thief? I waited two seasons for that. Yay!
The white silver getaway has been one of the best Sherlock Hound epsiodes so far. Just wow. So cozy. So well written. The farm-theme combined with the air craft was so good. Holmes and Moriarty have a real conversation with each other... it was so tense. Just wow!

Hound & Watson
Finished watching the blu-ray copy I grabbed of Sherlock Hound. I’d never watched it before so I took a gamble on it but wow was it good! Highly recommend the Japanese version! Holmes and Watson were really cute so naturally I had to draw them. Check in next week for some Moriarty. Two versions because I’ve been playing with tones again and it’s fun to try out multiple styles on my public pieces.
Watson: I wish he’d take better care of himself.

The difference a background artist-change can make
Season 1:
Season 2:
But in general season 2 is a lot better then season 1 (from a storytelling POV). I don't think they had more budget for season 2, but I think they knew how to use their budget better
Less fancy backgrounds = more money for various backgrounds = solid storytelling = less to none repetative chase scene
Sure I miss the beautiful drawn season 1 art, but I am also here for really good storytelling even when it looks less fancy.
I will make a list with the best eps to watch, if someone is interested
John covering sleepy Sherlock with a blanket?! I am crying! Why are they so soft!
Wondering why 221B is driving me nuts in season 2. Looking back at those pics I know why. Above is season 1
This is 221B in season 2:
Why is it suddenly looking so clean?
Different background artist?
In general 221B suddenly gives off really "weird" Howls moving castle, after Sophie cleaned it, vibes:
Moments where I wish i would know why they made thid decision
My fav part of Sherlock Hound is when they adapt stories directly from ACD canon.
Aka I am watching "The adventure of the three students"
Beautiful scenery
Also big love to Studio Ghibli for saying: "We have an episodes full of death traps. Watson HAS TO BE the damsal in distress."
The Secret of the Sacred Cross Sword is such a good episode?! I love when they have a little bit more budget and don't only do cheap repretitive chase scene between Moriarty and Johnlock
Also I laughed my ass off that the show has now reached the point where they hear someone scream in the background and Watson goes: "WHAT WAS THAT?" And holmes just shrugs it off: "Moriarty?!
the doggies
Artist question:
Often when someone opens commissions they say „no furries“
Are those furries? 👇
Because so far I always thought furries are always kinky. Or am I wrong?
