I'm still so dubious of the premise for this game. Flynn made a separate Grid just for ISOs? Wtf? Why isolate (hah) them like that? Doesn't that kinda ruin the whole plot of Legacy if he actually had more stashed away in another computer??? Q isn't the last one? Then why protect her like that? Why didn't Flynn tell Sam this before he died ??

Honestly THE most fascinating character in Legacy. Like yes a genocidal asshole who committed atrocities but what good villain isn't. But also like. He wasn't. WRONG? entirely. See all of Betrayal. Flynn did fuck up immensely and played God where he shouldnt have and neglected Clu and the whole grid repeatedly. I kinda don't blame him for not accepting the hug ahaha. Did he need to murder a species about his daddy issues? No not really. That fucking sucked of him and that scene where he creeps on Quorra about it makes my skin crawl (my God was that Written by a Man)
But I will admit I do feel for him despite that which honestly. Excellent villain right there. Fascinating little guy. That scene in Flynn's safe house was a short little throw away scene but said SO MUCH about Clu's character and how he became fucked up to begin with.
I think Flynn's analysis of 'no no he's me I fucked it up' is completely incorrect, hes his own person who was treated badly and THAT right there is where Flynn fucked up, not treating the programs like people. Not treating the whole grid like a whole world and not a playground. Clu felt like a plaything and felt he needed to take things into his own hands to protect himself and his people from being tossed aside in favor of the next shiny thing to catch Flynn's attention.
I just think he's neat

Being even mildly into Aviation is getting really annoyed by the lightjets in Tron because the controls aren't logical at all
Legacy gets the closest bc like... airbus aircraft actually use a sidestick to fly but why are there two. why does rinzler input on both to accelerate forward, that makes no sense. Forward on the sidestick is pitch down. back is pitch up. engines are a separate control. or should be. I guess aiming the gun could be one stick and flying the other, but the double forward input still makes no sense. It looks cool, though. Confuses me! but looks cool. Weird thing is he kinda does it correctly to fly away from clu initially (?? right??) so I don't know. I'd need to watch it again but WHY ARE THERE TWO
Uprising just gets me heated this makes no sense stoppp. To turn / roll the aircraft pavel in this scene pulls to the control on his right back and pushes the one on his left forward, which... ok sort of makes sense? I guess? though that would break my brain but okay, then.. how do you pitch the aircraft up and down if that's how you roll it. ffs. My guess is push both sides forward together and pitch down, pull both sides back together and pitch up, then cross them to turn but sheesh that would break my brain. You need to be able to pitch and roll at the same time. We won't talk about how the uprising versions have no horizontal or vertical stabilizers (I mean... 'flying wing' design aircraft exist and those big ole circley thingies must do something I guess) but i digress 'Kai they're not real aircraft' I know BUt -

One thing I love about (Uprising) Tron is that he is so good at the 'Armor-Piercing Question' trope. Mans can get you with words.
"Who is it you're trying to convince?" @ Lux, when she insists Kobol would never hurt her. Tron immediately breaks her down with that sentence and she has the intended heel-turn and lets him go! "Now prove it." @ Beck, when Beck had the Weapon and was acting up about it. Right after Tron told him he'd chosen him for a reason, because he was strong, physically and mentally. And it absolutely wakes Beck up and he goes and does the thing! :D "Clu didn't improve your face - he made you harder to look at!" @ Dyson. This dig got him into more trouble this time, as Dyson ramped up his torture, but honestly I don't think Tron was going for 'change his mind' here, he was just going for 'hit him where it hurts' and ... yep, effective.
Tron resorts to words, to reading people, to breaking down their motives and insecurities when he has no other weapons to use. Which is so delicious to me. That kind of wisdom comes from experience and also just... having a shit load of trauma yourself lol. Which all just makes it devastating to me he doesn't get to really speak at all in LEGACY sdkfjsldfjdslfjdslf. He is so good at it. Probably part of the reason Clu essentially silenced him.

Oh I just had a Tron related thought. I've always thought it was super sad that Rinzler/Tron loses both his identity discs right before the final lightjet chase in Legacy (he drops them both on Clu's ship after Quorra kicks him off the platform and doesn't get them back, just goes straight to the lightjet chase with Clu without them) But what if... the only reason he could break free of Clu's repurposing is BECAUSE he lost his discs. His reprogramming is on those. (...? We don't know exactly how it works tbh) Maybe because he didn't have them, that was slipping (I mean along with his memory, but obviously not all of it that fast, he still remembered Flynn and in Uprising it's shown with Beck it takes a while)
So... maybe that was a good thing. As sad as it is that he'll have no memory if he survived the sea / the flynnsplosion, but... he'll be free at least! *cries in Tron got shafted in his own franchise* I'm still hoping he might actually be in Identity. Do we know when the game is set, yet? It mentions a world without a creator, so I'm hoping it's set after Legacy but before Sam decides to venture back into the Grid, and we get our first look at Canon after Legacy.
If I was writing Identity, I would make it about Tron trying to find HIS identity, since he has no memory... find out who he is, with the climax / ending obviously being.. he's TRON. But y'know. That's just me...
