Crispy day, said hi to some clouds
'This is my favorite girlie!' And it's the saddest 150 you've ever seen lol
I love this airplane, and I've been trying to convince the owner (my instructor) to get it in annual and I might have SUCCEEDED i wanna see her ass FLY
I also yearn for the skies, but I don't know where to start. How did you get into flying planes?
Oh I can answer this one! It's a lot easier than you think! Google 'flight school near me', hit search, and profit :) Avoid big ones like ATP (unless you're interested in fast tracking an airline career I guess?), but any small-time (Part 91) school near you, just call them up, ask if you can take a discovery flight! It's that easy! To get started, anyway. The next steps tend to be a little harder, but to get a taste and see if you like it, just jump in! Discovery flights are a great time, no commitment, no studying needed beforehand, just have fun, and even if you never go back it's worth the experience :) Plus instructors love disco flights, super easy time and the student is usually really excited to be there lol. You'll get to manipulate the controls on your first flight, too! If you get through the disco flight and love it, then you can sign up for classes at the flight school or shop around at other schools then commit. Once you choose a flight school, you'll want to look into getting your flight medical, which is where it gets a little tough. The FAA is really strict on who gets a medical to fly, so BEFORE you start this process, ask yourself - have you ever been diagnosed with any mental health conditions (depression, anxiety etc) or taken medication for them? do you have any severe health issues such as seizures, heart conditions, or etc that the FAA might frown on? Some of these requirements aren't super fair (the mental health ones I have negative opinions about) but that is the reality of the FAA - if you've ever taken meds or been diagnosed, STOP HERE and do NOT pursue your FAA medical. If you get rejected once, you can essentially NEVER try again. Don't start the process if you think you might lose. You can still fly light sport without a medical, but if you're denied for one, that option goes away forever. If you need more information on the FAA medical process, message me, but if you're a healthy individual with no history you're fine. and don't worry about that yet, I just wanted to mention just in case so you didn't start the process and then realize later you weren't going to get through it! it's dumb. But I'm really familiar with it and have a special issuance. BUT TAKE A DISCO FLIGHT! It will change your LIFE! Once you get a taste, you tend to be hooked! Say goodbye to your wallet, though :D
Circled the pumpkin patch to see the corn maze today :)
Might actually get to go flying tomorrow if it isn't gusting 35
The one bright spot in my life rn - getting invited to go flying
Touching clouds
(Like 'get out and touch grass' except... flying)
Spent like five hours scrubbing this airplane from nose to tail. Every inch. The smashed bugs off the cowling and leading edges, AND the belly where all the soot and grease gathered from the exhaust and etc. SHE IS CLEAN. Her paint is so white. I am SORE and EXHAUSTED. BUT SATISFIED.
LOOK AT HERRRR. MY WIFEEE.
(and I'm getting 'paid' in one hour of flight time + instruction LSKDFJ. But Kai, you worked for five hours? Yea it was about a 200 dollar job and that's how much an hour of flight instruction is, it's fair trust me).
