hi!! kind of an awkward ask, but I’ve been worshipping/working with Lord Hermes and Lord Apollon for about a month now. Is it normal to feel familial about them? I’m just nervous that I’m being weird and blah blah blah.
oh absolutely not. i feel familial about both of them
for hermes it's understandable; He is my soul father. but i don't have any divine family relations with apollo, and yet i feel so familial with Him ! i feel very familial with most of the deities i worship
don't let anyone push you down for it ! it's your practice, at the end of the day.

my favourite method is probably lighting His candle and just yapping or singing honestly ! sometimes if i have enough time or energy i'll do a cartomancy reading , but usually it's just His candle and singing !
So how long it took until Apollo answered you? Im kinda new into worshiping, and hoping maybe being devoted to him in the future because right now i don’t think i can. well in the beginning it took a bit of time for me , like I'd say about a week for me to get a response ? but it'll be different for everyone ! if you don't get a response right away , don't be discouraged ! i suggest reaching out on a sunday , if you can , since i find He's more active on His sacred day
for approaching Him , i suggest any kind of divination since He is a god of divination and prophecy , it'll make Him pretty happy I'd say ! He's also really good with responding via divination so . also i suggest making some kind of creative work and showing it to Him , it doesn't have to be a poem or art of Him specifically , just something you're proud of !

i am beyond grateful for the gods. the only reason i'm even here anymore is because i cannot give them the same devotion in death that i can in life. i'll endure it for them.
guys i love Apollo so much. i was crying so much yesterday and it felt like i had my head in His lap and i kept having pep talk and comforting words pop into my head. at one point i was like, “what if i'm just talking to myself” and i distinctly remember such a gentle, slightly amused tone going, “well that would be okay too, wouldn't it? it's still helping you, isn't it? what does it matter?” and that kind of confirmed it was Apollo for me
this may sound weird but i've finally developed a sense of balance in terms of what i call apollon.
for context, i feel weird if i say apollon all the time because it feels too formal and restrictive, but it feels too casual to constantly say apollo too.
so now, instead, when i'm talking to or about him in a lighthearted / casual manner with other hellenic pagans or other devotees ( or just yapping to him about my day ), i say apollo. when i'm talking to him formally ( i.e, inviting him for a reading, giving a formal prayer, etc ), talking about him seriously, or talking to non-pagans about him then i say apollon.
this is a weird analogy but it's kind of like how in some fiction, the king's son will call him father or dad in private but address him as "his majesty" or "your majesty" in front of others!
point of this post? i don't know, kind of a reminder that your practice is your own, and that you can mix and match if that works for you.
so @/theic-manic's post about interpratio romana and interpratio graeca has got me mad thinking about a lot of interactions i've had. like it suddenly makes sense why i feel slightly different energies when i say apollon vs when i say apollo. he switches between them for me depending on this very post. oh my gods.
