Melinoe: "Ah Buggy... I remember him well from the time I spent on Gol D. Roger´s ship after they rescued me from drowning in the sea. He and Shanks were exact opposites of each other, yet I had that feeling that they both tried their best to cheer me up and protect me. Buggy´s jokes always made me laugh, just as his endless fights with Shanks over the smallest topics did.
It´s appropriate to call Buggy an old childhood friend of mine. Not more. Of course, just as the rest of Roger´s crew, I watched over how his pirate career unfolded from Mary Geoise, after they brought me back there. But if you ask me, I would've never thought about it that he may become a pirate lord someday. Shanks, yes. He always had this willpower in him to bring him to the top. But Buggy? No. He was more of a talker, a chatterbox, a clown. Yet I admit, that a lot has changed over the years. Just as a lot is going on in this world that was out of my predictions.
To be honest, I never saw Buggy again in persona after I left Roger´s ship and I never found the need to meet him again. With Shanks, it´s different..."

"Me? A pirate?! Don't be silly! *laugh* I could never live the same way as Red Hair Shanks or Gol D. Roger. Indeed, there is something in this freedom you gain, when you sail across the ocean. But let´s not forget what pirates really are - criminals. I just like peace and order way too much to be someone, who fights against it."
