THATS AN AMAZING AMOUNT OF COMMENTS! I WAS TRAPPED AS A MINDLESS DRONE IN THE SKELETON WAR BY PEOPLE I THOUGHT I COULD TRUST FOR LIKE THE LAST MONTH BUT IT'S THE LAST DAY OF THE FALL FEST TODAY!!!
Okay I finally figured out what a script manager is and downloaded the floating comment box and it is a GAME CHANGER HOLY SHIT.
The only reason I don't put literally every thought I have into the comment box is that it pulls me out of a fic, but now I can just write my own mini novel in every chapter and I'm obsessed.
tldr thank you for sharing that! My author brain is so much happier now that I'm leaving more comments!

Story time! I participated in the April mini-event and left a comment mentioning to the writer that it's okay to throw the link into the same comment thread if they ever write something for the similar topic since it was a really interesting interpretation of the character... So they did send ьe the link in August, and yesterday I had just enough energy to finally read and comment 🔥 In the comment I mentioned how them remembering to send me the link feels very special...
Today I received their reply and it absolutely obliterated me 😭 /pos They basically said that it's hard to forget such a good reader who leaves long and detailed comments; and guys, let me just tell you - it feels as good as a comment on my own work 🥹

My sibling and co-writer has been going out of their mind with all the comments they've gotten over the last few weeks. Impossible to say how many have been because of this, but it's come just in time for them to actually write on it. (They had no idea what's going on)
Between the sun returning and the 3 week "it's too hot" holiday version Australian industries take, November is the perfect time for this.

I like to write any comments I have on a fic in public bookmarks so I and others going thru them can see my thoughts easier. If I have questions or want to address the author directly I’ll write a comment, but I do that less often. The main difference is “This fic is great and you should read it. It has a,b,c-” vs “I love this fic because of how you wrote a,b,c-“.
Does it make a difference to authors if I only do the bookmark? Do authors read public bookmarks? Would it help at all if I copy-pasted and my bookmark notes in the comments (with a little rewording) just to cover my bases?
