Stupid Unofficial II Plush Poll

There was a question on here the other day that made me ponder if people would still want plushes in a post-everyone-dies world. Whether yes or no, I made a for-fun poll where you can answer that and which characters deserve to be plush-ified. Yay! The responses are not going straight to Adamation Inc. headquarters, so we can be lax and chill about this and there's no need to answer with all of your Google accounts, promise. <3

This poll is just gonna go just till tomorrow. May or may not share the results, but if-so probably late this month? Enjoy clicking buttons!

hi Justin! just want to say I ADORE ii and it's one of my favourite shows out there; actually inspired me to start my own!

which is a lame segue into my question- do you have any advice for someone wanting to make their own show?

Avatar

That's so exciting!! Art makes art!

Oh golly uhhhh. There's so so much to say in so many different departments. So. I'll keep it broad and of course anyone can ask more specific questions haha.

My go-to advice tends to be for creators to start as small as possible early on. Even if you aspire to create projects that are huge-in-scale down the line. So much about becoming a great artist involves moving through the stages of your art (whatever type it may be!) from start-to-finish, every step of the process, over and over and over again. So say in show creation, idk if you plan to be hands-on in every department or if you have a lot of help, but that could mean breaking down stories and outlining, writing, recording, constructing audio scenes and boarding, character and prop and background design, animating, music assembly, mixing, finalizing and editing, etc, over and over again. Obviously not every step may be involved in your project depending on what your goal is, but whatever it is that you do, do it sooooooooo many times.

While there's nothing inherently wrong with jumping in and making your first project something say, movie-length, or something immensely complex in scope, I do find it can, for many (not all) be limiting when it comes to learning a lot of fundamental building-blocks in craft. As well, I see a lot of people get lost in an overwhelming project, trying to focus on quality>quantity right out of the gate. But spending the majority of your time just on adding some extra polish as opposed to running through the whole process again and again can only do so much for you. Obviously, a mentality of quality>quantity is great once you have a strong baseline understanding of production. But again, I think it's a huge plus to work on shorts and teeny-projects to start.

Since the above is pretty dry, I'll add an additional fun one. I've found that a lot of newer artists will toss away the concepts that make them joyous in hopes that they can instead create something that fits an objective perception of "professional." Nothing wrong with that, but I strongly advise artists of all levels of experience to toss everything they've love about the world and other media into their work. Their favorite genres and tropes, the stupid inside jokes that make them light up with their friends that they can invite the audience in-on, adaptations of stories that have made them cry. Create the things YOU love to experience. It's fine to let go of what you think the audience wants. Cause that's not easily guessable. But what YOU enjoy is something certain to you. It's sorta like how they say, it's better to go to the gym and do an suboptimal-but-fun workout that keeps you coming every day than a perfect workout that leads you to quitting. Share your joy with the world, and someone will resonate!

Be silly, be cringe, have fun!

what’s your favourite episode of each of the seasons? :D

My answer changes per day, since sooo many episodes mean a ton to me, but here are my gut instincts for this exact specific precise second:

S1 - The Snowdown

S2 - Hatching the Plan

S3 - Out of Body Experience

Justin I have some bad news. MePhone didn’t just create the contestants, he made you 😔😔😔

:(

Heck.

Does that mean that I'm created to never grow beyond my current key traits? Traits such as uh. Being really cool and edgy and tall and brooding with a dark tragic backstory? Sigh.

It's not meant for me to transcend. :(

Since Bot is not a part of MeLife, does that mean if they die, they die forever?

Yeah! :D

(My speech is a bit unclear to some people and I don't know how to ask this question properly)

One question about Season 2, after episode 14 was released, we first got into seeing Invitational (Season 3), but after we came back to Season 2 once Invitational was finished, in episode 16 of Season 2, we saw the season 3 newbies in that episode, and in episode 17, they are all deleted by MePhone X, so if Season 2 Episode 16 (Act 2) came before Invitational (Season 3), it wouldn't make sense at all because once their life is drained, they can't be recovered by MePhone 4.

I came into realization that Invitational came first and then episode 15 of Season 2. Why though? What really happened?

Avatar

Because MePhone was running away from season 2-related stresses! And so were we sorta! Yay!

But also it was a last-chance to do a normal happy jolly season again before all the scary truths came-out and disaster struck. And sprinkling in a few more hints while we were at-it was a fun bonus.

It's a lil side-quest! :)

Hello Justin, how is Bot doing? Are they doing fine where they are right now?

Probably really confused. The library is very quiet today. They thought only a few pals were going to the S2 finale. Hmm.

Hopefully they didn't see anyone suddenly vanish. That'd be worrying.

But at least not quite as terrifying as seeing someone get MePhoneX'd.

EDIT: Library is also deleted now lol xd how wacky! Bot can still have those thoughts in the brief seconds before the library goes missing. Now all that combined is very concerning and anxiety-inducing!

I know you guys changed the profile picture to match the season two style, but mephone looks so strangly sad in this picture :-( you took all of his joyousness and whimsicallity.wahhhhh

Justin Chapman inanimate insanity….

Important jolly question would Mephone4 be on the naughty or the nice list…

Merry early Yaoimas btw…

This one is so hard, he's right on the line. He's shown great empathy and great selfishness. Invitational helped his standing o the list quite a bit, but it's probably not enough. I think it depends on what he does in Season 2 Episode 18. Right now it's riiight in a spot where he can turn it around right before the holiday season. Or give in and allow himself to be drastically worse.

Merry early Yaoimas!

JUSTIN MY MAN!!! How're you doing this fine day? :3 Quick question for my favourite rambler! Can Bot be recovered by Melife? They weren't made by Mephone, so wouldn't that mean they'd be alive in II 18?

Thank you!!

- Your average Anon <3

Can confirm that Bot's life is not tied MeLife.

not a day goes by where i don’t think about that apple bottom jeans post……

OKAY. So. Yes I agree it's a very silly epic post, but. A couple things.

#1 - It was a submission, not my original post, but eventually Tumblr stopped properly labeling submissions as-such when it phased those out, so I deleted it to avoid confusion. Granted, when people repost screenshots of that post it has the version that makes it look like my original creation lol.

#2 - What if I were to say I didn't 100% understand the implications of that post when I shared it. And that I got definitions of words mixed up in my head. WHAT IF.

JUSTIN!!!! First question, we're all of the contestants created on the same day? And does that mean they share a birthday? Or did mephone give them all birthdays for fun?

Tldr I wanna know all the mephones and melife creations creation dates so I can celebrate their birthdays :]

I'd say roughly, yeah. Same bday for contestants that are made for the same season. With exception for contestants like Fan and Lifering, which were made for prior mid-season episodes.

Not sure what day on our calendar that'd be per season, but it could be fun picking something! Maybe April 1st for a bunch of them, cause it's when the show started in our world, and cause they're a biiiig joke.

Anonymous asked:

how active would you say you are on tumblr? do you use it to just answer questions or do you engage in other stuff?

Pretty much just as a question box. And I'm not even good at that. I have thousands of unanswered questions in here haha.

I'll also look over stuff art and writing in the II tag, occasionally. That's a really good work motivator. :)

please die

I don't usually reply to the many asks I get that are like this one, but like, c'mon, at least give some constructive feedback while you do this. Kinda feels a little lazy as-is?

Or like, a compliment sandwich? I tend to find those helpful when appealing to others. Some positive at the start and end, and then smoosh in that potentially-negative-sounding note in the middle. Mix it up a little! And hope life makes a turn for the brighter, Anon.
