One of my HCs is that M’gann was one of Maggie’s exes, one she didn’t have a bad break up with, because M’gann is a psychic, and understood Maggie’s pain.
Alex is the only non-psychic who actually understands her.

After seeing @queercapwriting ‘s post about M’gann and Spacedad, I just wanted you to know this HC of mine Captain. Because M’gann cares about Maggie, and because Maggie truly cared for M’gann, but she was too self destructive, they both were, but imagine Maggie telling M’gann that there is no shame in surviving, like Alex told Spacedad that. or M’gann telling Maggie that she is worthy of happiness. because she does read her mind, not in an intruding kind of way, but in a bonding martian kind of way, and even though Maggie couldn’t really do the same for M’gann in that way, she would listen to her, her story, her struggles, her everything, and when they realized that romance was not exactly what they had, they shifted into friendship, even though, M’gann would offer some more than friendly intimacy to Maggie (not sex necessarily, but maybe a kiss to a make out type of stuff, when Maggie would need to feel…)
The only reason their relationship didn’t work out was because they were both too deep into self-hate that they couldn’t heal eachother.
And now I hurt myself writing this, and I need a hug ;_;

But, my one caveat is that I feel like M’gann wouldn’t need her telepathy to understand Maggie (it doesn’t hurt, being able to sense her surface thoughts, but even if she didn’t have it, I think they’d be close and understand each other anyway). She’d probably see something really familiar in Maggie, just from being a bartender, just from being her friend; just from the fact that Maggie’s a human, usually alone with her scotch, in an alien bar.
Oh fuck me, does this mean I have to fic it? Do yall want that?

Is it just me that is frustrated that Kara got a scene where she was supported by J'onn but Maggie got nothing? Like, Kara was told that this wasn't her fault and that she was doing her best, but Maggie, who was CLEARLY upset and scared, got nothing? I'm not saying Kara didn't deserve support, but everyone seemed to forget about Maggie. She was visibly and audibly scared but no one at any point tried to help her out. Because that just makes me sad and angry and I want to hug her so bad.
i think that was very intentional honestly, maggie isn’t really… at the point of leaning on people right now. she has alex for sure, and she’s just now starting to open up and express vulnerability with her. it’s gonna take her some time to feel comfortable enough with the others to get there.
i actually really appreciated the dialogue j’onn had about maggie with kara. he knew how she was feeling, he explained it. and the hug at the end of the episode and his “you too maggie” showed that he does care for her. but i think he realized that trying to comfort her while alex was still missing and trying to take on a role like that before she’s actually ready for it wouldn’t have worked well for her, it’s just not her process. instead he recognized how she was feeling, gave her the space she needed, and at the end subtly suggested to her that he’s there.
so no i wasn’t really frustrated about that. kara has a support network that she’s come into and grown comfortable within. maggie’s only recently been put in that position. she wouldn’t have tried to lean on or take comfort from anyone at this stage.

your m'gann/maggie fic is SO GOOD. your AN said throw prompts at you so what are your headcanons for how M'gann even ended up in National City? And when did she first meet Maggie? =D (I mean id love a whole fic but only if you're interested/have time & energy :)
thank you ok so i’ve been thinking about it, and you know i have no idea why m'gannwould choose national city. what do you think? does she like to stay in oneplace for a long time or does she prefer to move from place to place? i wonderif, with the reveal of superman and then supergirl – aliens that humans likeand trust – good aliens kind of flock to those cities, in the hopes of maybemore acceptance, protection, and community. so metropolis and then nationalcity become kind of hubs of alien populations. but i don’t know if m'gann wouldfeel the same way? also i think she’s been in national city longer thansupergirl’s been around so. i’m not sure?
but m'gann and maggie. oh boy. i’m determined to write this fic, at some point. but for now, here’s some ridiculously long headcanons.
1. m'gann has learnt that a bar/pub is kind of a perfect place to be. youcan talk and connect and socialise with people, without having to get tooclose. which is exactly what she wants, because she craves connection but shealso like, doesn’t think she deserves it. [until maggie freaking sawyer. maggie’s pretty damn good at turningpeople’s lives upside down, as we know. sometimes m'gann wishes she’d nevermaggie, because genuinely caring about someone, someone genuinely caring aboutyou – it’s hard, it’s scary, it’ssomething m'gann has had only a handful of times in her hundreds of years andsometimes it all feels too much and like things were simpler before. but thenmaggie will smile, or hug her, or just bethere, and m'gann is so goddamn grateful.] er, anyway…
2. maggie stumbles across the bar by accident. she’s tailing a suspectand they lead her there. she sits in a booth in the back, nursing a beer,watching them, thinking she’s being subtle. and probably she is – though this’dbe a few years back when she’s still a rookie so she wouldn’t be as good as sheis now – but while m'gann isn’t a detective, she pays attention and she’sperceptive, so she notices. after like an hour of maggie just sitting there,letting her beer get warm because she’s not going to drink on the job, m'ganntakes pity on her and brings over a bowl of fries. “if you’re going to sithere all night you should at least eat something.” before maggie canreply, m'gann’s like, “so what’s your deal? cop? angry ex? stalker?”maggie chokes. “god no.the first one. the first one.”“i see.”“you know anything about that alien?”and because m'gann is so nice and always trying to be good, to help, shesays yes.“well then, please.” maggie motions to the seat opposite her.they end up sharing the fries m'gann brought over.
this entire aesthetic… has got me feeling so good bye.

seeing hidden figures (again, yes, i know i only saw it a few days ago, i will happily watch it again and again and again) on valentines. so it's kind of like i'm spending valentines with taraji p. henson. which i am 100% okay with.
