#I love this scene #i bloody love this whole episode #it’s just so genious and full of all the RTD skills I miss so much #this scene was like the perfect emblem of the basic fundamentals and dynamics of the Doctor and Rose relationship #because RTD was able to create this sort of empathic connection between the two of them in just like one episode #and still make it so believable and poignant #the doctor took Rose to the year five billion and in the end she felt what is like to be the last of your kind alive #( well come on the bitchy trampoline doesn’t count!) #and what is like to see your own Planet burn and dissolve into dust #and it’s in that exact moment when the doctor took her hand in front of that glass that you know how much these two are actually connected #because you can really feel he’s thinking about his own planet and that he exactly knows what Rose was feeling in that moment #and the fact that now she knows too the fact that she can *understand* makes his able to finally open up to her in the end #after he spent the entire episode pushing her away and avoiding her questions #but now it’s different and he confesses her how actually lonely he is and alsoshows her his vulnerability in a sort of way #and it’s amazing how Rose says exactly what he needed to hear #*there’s me* #simple and honest like that #she’s saying ‘You don’t have to feel that way anymore I’ll stay with you’ (via aintborntipycal)
