Sure thank you for asking. I touch on them occasionally in the fic, but it's few and far between.
Basically, my thought was abo dynamics were dying out, and it was just becoming betas (aka no dynamics/subgenders anymore). This made everyone panic because it was new, and we panic when something is taken away or something new happens, right? We are human.
With Omegas both male and female can have children and they can give birth to any of the 3 subgenders, but only if they are impregnated by an Alpha because they are the only ones who carry the genes necessary to create an Alpha.
However when Omegas are impregnated by betas they can have beta or Omega. Which is why there are more Omegas than Alphas. They have more chances to have another omega no matter which impregnated them.
Despite that, betas are still the top birthed subgender. Why is unknown, science and stuff.
Alphas are very rare. Less than 200 known worldwide and they are hunted and captured in order to force them to have as many children as possible with any paying Omegas who want the fame of giving birth to an Alpha and giving their family a good nama in the future. Despite what may happen to their Alpha child.
The suppressants y/n references in the fic are black market/illegal. Because the governments dont want Alphas to be able to hide. (There may even be rumors of them funding and operating some of those sex trade/rings 🤷🏻♀️)
Bonding is a linking of souls. The premise being that their souls are the part of them that is their subgender. However, Alphas are the only ones who can create the bond because reasons. And the bonding may or may not help create more Alphas, there are so few alphas now that that has become almost a myth or superstition. And when the bond is created, in whatever way works for them (mental like in the fic, sexual in some cases) a mark appears on the back of both necks that best represents the two souls that were used to make the bond. And in the fic y/n bonds all 8 so they all travel down her spine.
Which brings us to the law mentioned in the fic too. It began when Omegas were thought of as less than the other subgenders and in need of supervision/care. But when the tables turned Korea and other governments kept the laws in order to try and force Alpha Omega bonding and eventually births. Korea specifically uses the idol industry because it's easiest for them to force the idols into this.
(For legal purposes this is all made up no government would ever do this, obvi 👀)
