firestar doodleeeee sorry i haven't fed you guys in months
I wonder what Mae got up to this Harfest 🎃🍂
there is something so comedically perfect about chapter 22 of star providing a beautiful, poignant ending for frostpaw, one that the book absolutely could have (and should have) concluded on… and then you flip the page and the last chapter of the book is a fucking nightheart chapter where he looks at the camera and says “yep this arc was about me and the name thing all along. i’m not orange and this is the note we’re ending the book on. And Sunbeam Is Pregnant.”
i had almost forgotten about how much i hated him. we were so close to a final book where nightheart remains in the background where he belongs. and then the final chapter of the entire fucking arc comes in with a steel chair of nightheart
i cant even be mad. it’s so absurd. this is the perfect summation of what reading warrior cats is like. nightheart’s been a social experiment this entire time, goodnight
Guys... Something is up with Dove's eyes guys... Yall I think Brazil got her... I think we're gonna have to call her Asa de Pomba now yall..

Glasshouse gang.
only thing that trips me up with a brightstar au is how i would go about rewriting the events of tbc, because obviously the whole reason ashfur chose bramble to possess was because he was thunderclan's leader AND squilf's mate. he could still possess brambleclaw as a regular warrior but that would take away all of the stakes considering brambleclaw as a warrior (and in turn, ashfur) would have no power over thunderclan in this au, but possessing brightstar would remove his whole motive in getting close to squirrelflight again in the first place
definitely a bit of a conundrum but i'm determined to somehow make it work in my head
The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends: The Tale of Jemima Puddle Duck
Directed by Dave Unwin and first aired 9th April 1993. Based on the book by Beatrix Potter
in some other universe
thinking about when people were like well maybe nightheart is deliberate commentary on the male loneliness epidemic
it was part of the really weird phenomena of people claiming 'oh you aren't supposed to like nightheart (ignore that the fact the story goes deliberately out of its way to make him correct)' while also spending more of their time yelling at people who don't like nightheart than the people saying that sparkpelt is a bitch and an abuser, curiously. like yeah sorry for not having much faith in the writing quality and intention of the book series that we all agree is dogshit. sorry for coming to the conclusion that the writers who have a track record of expressing such progressive notions as "a woman can't have a job and be a mother at the same time because she'll be too overpowered by her inherent maternal instinct to do her job right" might be writing their women characters as nagging harpies to elevate their male protag on purpose. even in the universe where his arc really is about the male loneliness epidemic what in the fucking world makes you think these writers would have anything of value to say on that matter
“There’s a city in my mind,
Come along and take that ride”
They’re off on an adventure!!!
"why does everyone want moonpaw to be rude when they couldn't even handle flamepaw/nightheart?"
because flamepaw wasn't a fun cocky brash kind of rude like squirrelpaw or needlepaw were, he was insecure loser #53 with made up mummy issues that the books bent over backwards to justify (i will say this again sparkpelt did not fucking neglect or abandon him she suffered from postpartum depression for like 2 weeks after watching her husband die in front of her when flamekit was born which is a period of time he shouldn't even REMEMBER of all things and she was then exiled against her will while flamepaw made the choice to stay behind in thunderclan instead of joining her like his sister and i will never forgive the authors for framing it like everything was her fault). i really don't need the next arc to grab me by the face and go 'looook look how mean his family members are being to him all of a sudden despite them being completely supportive of him in the previous book (looking at you finchlight) don't you feel bad? :('
i get that some people like nightheart and that's fine but the nightheart-type rude is not what the people want trust me. we are sick of apprentices being sad and/or insecure we do not need another crowpaw or breezepaw or flamepaw or alderpaw or rootpaw we want her to be a MENACE goodnight
The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (UK) posted this to their Facebook page today:
We are very excited to announce our NEW RECOGNISED BREED - The Transylvanian! 🤩
'Indigenous to the woodlands and forests around the Carpathian Mountain areas of Romania and Hungary, the Transylvanian cat is the most recently discovered natural breed in the world.
They have fascinating features such as the reverse Karparti coat, born white, over the first 12 months the kitten grows a black, blue or sometimes a red coat whilst leaving the points of the ears, nose and paws white. Basically a reverse point! The Transylvanian is thermal too, being lighter in summer and darker in winter.
The foundation breeders led by Beverly Elian (WCF Judge) are based in Romania, Hungary, Switzerland and in the UK with Stuart & Amanda Brass.
Extensive testing has occurred on all four generations supported by Leslie Lyons and it appears the breed is robust with no genetic or hereditary issues appearing in any of the litters.'
Not seen and heard enough? You can see our newly recognised Transylvanian at the Feline Fair! Buy your tickets here - https://tinyurl.com/5dm7kp9a! 🎟️
anyone else find it kind of sad that nobody in thunderclan ever named any of their kits after ravenpaw? graystripe and dustpelt especially i’m looking at you, you guys had multiple litters each and were particularly close with him (friend and retconned brother) you should be ashamed…
calling it now if i ever get round to rewriting wc i’m renaming spiderkit to ravenkit
nightheart is less of a character to me and more of a personalization of the writer's misogyny and male-focused mindset. he hates the people around him, primarily his mother, which he only does because he believes the worst in sparkpelt; not the truth-- which he knows, has a made-up, unrealistic issue (name), his relationship with another female character has singlehandedly rewritten her personality to be of service to him while the writers seemingly abandon her previous storyline, and he continues to receive main character opportunities (be in the sunbeam-frostpaw-nightheart trio, follow frostpaw to the COTP), and is adored by a portion of the fanbase who woobify him, spouting misogynistic and ablesist beliefs without realizing it for the sake of liking another sad, lost, male character in the belief that he is something "new" and "special" (which, i don't know how to tell you this, he is NOT) to me, nightheart is not a character, he is not a person. he does not have a personality nor a story. he is not a main character nor an unreliable narrator. he is not "coded" to be anything other that a mish-mash of previous male characters. he is not poorly written, nor written well. he is a written manifestation of the writer and editors hate, even if they do not realize it. previous characters got close (of note alderheart, brambleclaw, clear sky, crowfeather) , but i believe he is the truest embodiment. (unless, for gods sake, we get something WORSE in future books)
