You’re Safe With Me
*EXTRA TRIGGER WARNING IN CASE PEOPLE DIDN’T READ ABOVE*
As you entered the office, a few different files in your hand, Midoriya glanced up from his desk. You offered him a warm smile, heading over to his desk. He lowered his pen, returning your smile. His emerald eyes connected with yours, a slight tingle sliding up your spine as it always did. You never understood why his gaze effected you so much, but you didn’t pay it any mind at this moment.
“Let me guess, more cases rejected by Kacchan?”He asked. You nodded once, holding the files out to him. He accepted them from you, his fingers ever so slightly sliding over yours. Your heart skipped a beat. Little did you know, so did his. His fingertips tingled where he’d touched you. He pulled back, moving to look through the papers and files.
“As always, he refuses jobs like these. I never understand why, they’re some of the most important ones. Then again, dealing with civilians isn’t his strong suit,”You told him. Midoriya hummed in agreement at you. You moved, taking a seat in the chair in front of his desk. You stiffened slightly, the bruises on your back brushing against the chair. A slightly pained noise left your mouth, though it would’ve been too quiet to hear. Or so you’d thought. Midoriya had heard it. His ears were trained for that kind of thing after all. He was able to detect smaller sounds, as he’d had to on many missions. Concern flickered in his chest and he quickly glanced up at you as you scooted forward a little bit. You casually rested your arms on the armrests, hoping you didn’t look as stiff as you felt. “At least, that’s what his PR Manager says.” Midoriya hummed as you spoke, quickly looking back to the papers before you could notice his gaze.
“They would definitely be right about that,”Midoriya murmured in amusement. He slid the papers back in the file. “Kacchan is always best suited to take down the bigger, badder villains, though. He comes in handy when their ego’s are too big.” You snorted.
“Brute force would scare anyone away.” Midoriya laughed a little. He looked up at you, grinning.
“He’s not just pure brute force. He’s smart too. He has tactile advantages.” You shrugged at him. Midoriya’s eyes returned to the papers. You cleared your throat.
“I’ve passed along a few of the other cases to Uravity and Shoto’s PR Managers as well. There were a lot that Ground Zero refused in this flow of cases.” Midoriya sat one file to the side. “Are there any you won’t do?”
