Okay okay okay so this is going to sound really cheesy but kindness WORKS. I have noticed that even if someone is being an straight up arse to you, if you simple breathe, smile, and say something like “okay I understand you are upset right now but can you please not speak to me like that” you will actually see them get taken back and rethink their entire life. You get to A.) say “fuck you” in the nicest way possible B.) not give into hate and C.) have the satisfaction of know you are more mature and have more control over your emotions than that person. It doesn’t work all the time but when it does it feels SO good because you know that you could have spit and spat at them and fueled the fire but instead you handled it with grace and kindness. You will never regret being kind to someone.
