The fact that Clara went from having a single armband tattoo to having nearly every body part covered in ink over the course of one afternoon really says something.
Anyways, here’s a description of her tattoo’s:
Upper Back: I took a ref and added some more viking/dwarven inspired designs, and Clara just got it cause she thought it would be neat.
Lower Back: Totally stole the pattern from Kili’s outfit, but she got this tattoo to remind her of her dwarrow roots.
Left bicep/Shoulder: Arm Band and Rune Mark. The arm band has 4 little runes going around it, representing Gebo (gift), Inguz (seed, growth), Dagaz (dawn, rebirth), and Berkana (the birch tree). The big rune mark is Othala, the rune of inheritance.
Right bicep and Arm: Dagger with Flowers, and then a vine design that creeps down the length of her arm to her fingers. She got this because she thought it was cool, and it kinda represented the hobbit/dwarf mix in her.
Back of Neck: A design Dwalin created for her first necklace and hairpiece, and it has stuck with her since, to the point where it was her first tattoo.
Left Thigh: Norse-inspired Dragon. Basically represents Smaug, who Clara was fascinated with as a child. Not so much as an adult, when he nearly torches everyone she loves.
Right Thigh/Side: The Lynx Constellation. She has an obsession with Lynx cats, and the Lynx constellation is her favorite in the sky.
Collarbone: Little ferns :)
Right Ankle: A few wildflowers, which she was inspired to get after a visit to hobbit-ton as a young adult.
