Hello everyone, my name is PearlescentMoon

Hihi! I'm Pearl! Magic is quite a fine name aswell. Although I'm a man of many names ;)

I am a minor, my gender labels are gendervoid verinix, tho I also ID as bigender and ftm (fem presenting tho! not transmasc, just trans man)! I'm queer, leaning on mlm, tho I also like girls here and there.

REWATCHING PEARL'S EPISODE AND. I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS:

"you two are looking mighty green today... are you ill? are you sick?" and then. pearl pulled out an enchanted diamond sword. a weapon. a threat. she held it for both of them to see as she said: "do you need help? i can assist you..."

she threatens them. sword in hand. threatens to relieve them of their lives. because isn't this how the game is supposed to be played? yellows kill dark greens for their lives. the misfortunate kill the fortunate. that's how it works. that's how it always has.

and then cleo says something she hadn't been expecting to hear:

"here's the question, pearl; do you need help?"

she had never been offered a life in last life; she'd only given them. in limited life her allies never offered her their time; she only took time from her enemies. she's never been offered a life. she'd never been offered help.

"...i would love help..."

she'd never been expecting them to help her. she came in the conversation expecting to take, like she always had, not be given.

"pearl, i'm happy for you to murder me, if required!"

he didn't even hesitate. he was happy to die for her. (later, mumbos words would ring through her head; “if they really loved you they’d get you off yellow.” and that’s what he had offered to do. did this mean scott really loved her? after everything?)

  • when he'd pack to go into the maze itd be MOSTLY various different weapons instead of other things like food or health supplies (why would he need health supplies? he knows hes not getting hurt and other people can carry their own! /silly) however the vast amount of weapons he has does end up being useful to him for things like disarming traps that might need more precision
  • before the maze, he was a miner. this is why he has the goggles and why hes so naturally gifted at traversing the maze-- hes already used to being in long, confined, and stony spaces. and is also why he was so obsessed with going into the maze originally. it reminded him of home.
  • he got a phobia of spiders after being in the maze for 100 days both because they reminded him of grievers and because they crawled on him when he'd sleep at night (also he 100% had some sort of ptsd after that)
  • he did NOT take care of his hair at all but it still managed to be really soft somehow (lucky???)
  • drank copious amounts of water. literally always thirsty somehow. he chugs water 24/7 and if his waterbottle isnt full he'll be sad.
  • he tried to cheer people up via his cooking. he wasnt very emotionally present, but could still recogize when people were sad and that he should PROBABLY do something about it. but he didnt really know HOW. so he was just like "oh youre sad? uhm. heres some steak and potatos? slay???"
  • i mentioned earlier about him going into the maze because it subconsciously reminded him of his past, but after he remembered his past he deliberately tried to quit doing things that reminded him of it. this ranges from going in the maze to specific ways he'd cook food to certain phrases he'd say etc

I find the whole magic and Owen thing rlly interesting (bias) which you know, but I’ve been thinking about it and during the levers Owen would have been like, a huge warning flag that something was super wrong.

like if the outsiders can tell that Owen does have a soul bound bc he takes damage and stuff, but they don’t know where they are, it’s reasonable to assume it’s someone somewhere else in the maze. I can kinda picture Owen being more willing to let people in bc he wants to find his sb.

so then the levers happen, and no one’s sure what they did for a while, right? But Magic definitely got injured during that and was running for her life, so if all of that randomly impacting Owen then clearing 1 was probably super worried. Also Apo prolly felt rlly bad :(

poor owen would need to be helping run the clearing and still protecting the others while also dealing with the ungodly pain from magic

naturally its built into him from a young age to get back up when hes hurt, regardless of whats going on, so his acheing bones mixed with magics bleeding wounds would NOT be a very nice combo

owen would probably realize SOMETHING too when magic finally comes into the clearing and for the first time isnt having his feelings mixed with her fear, anxiety, and pain

while the griever is literally directly over his head, he'd be more at peace then he'd been in for weeks
