The sun was rising over the hills and began shining almost as brightly as Maddies smile, there was no wind as he (vlad) stood on his balcony and looked over the garden infront of him.

It was perfect the lawn was being cleaned of the last of the dirt from the bachelor's party from last night and soon they would set up for the big day. He breathed in the crisp morning air and sighed, today was going to be perfect.

He had all he could dream of, his life long dream of owing the packers, jack was gone, the love of his life beautiful maddie whom he was going to marry in just a few hours and he and danny were much closer than they were 8 months ago. Huh, 8 months ago... he would have only dreamed something like this would happen and now look at him.

The day dragged on by as they set up the venue, and he waited anxiously for the time of the wedding to arrive. He wasn't scared of getting married oh no, he was worried about Maddie, he hadn't been able to see her since yesterday afternoon as it was bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. His head was swarming with thoughts of what had happened with her and if she was okay.

Suddenly he was brought out of his thoughts by a knock on the door. He was confused maddie had perfected the wedding list leaving no detail out, so who could possibly be need him now? He strode to the door in long calculated steps and opened the door slowly. He looked down as he was a tall man and many people were shorter than him, and instead of seeing a measly worker he saw, "Danny! What a surprise, i thought you were going to stay with your mother today?" He opened the door wider as to allow danny inside.

"Oh, uhm yes i was" Danny stumbled over himself as he walked in the room, "its just....my uh, Jack never...." Danny trailed off and he was fighting with something in his hands. Vlad looked down and immediately understood.

'Of course that lumbering oaf never taught him.' Vlad thought. He kneeled down and took Danny's hand and unfurled them gently to reveal a slightly rumpled tie.

Danny was shook, 'Vlad doesn't kneel for anyone' "Here let me help you" vlad mumbled and put the tie around Danny's neck and weaved his hands gently. " Thank you," Danny said abruptly, " You make my mom really happy, she was so excited this morning" Danny smiled softly" she looked stunning, in her dress y'know, I don't remember seeing her much before you came" Danny looked in vlads eyes " I hope you keep her smiling like that for a real long time, for your sake and mine."

Vlad ducked his head and laughed as the thought ' he's giving me a shovel talk again.' He looked up at Danny " Don't worry, son I'll die before I make her cry"

Danny smiled as he got up and headed towards the door, pausing just before he left. He turned his head looked at vlad and said " thanks for everything dad" and then left.

Now with that, a huge smile rose onto vlads face and he knew today was going to be perfect.
