Tim Drake hc:

After rescuing Bruce from the timestream, the other Bats eventually notice that Tim is 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 without at least one weapon on him at all times. He usually has three (the small knife he built hideaway spots in all his shoes for, the larger knife either on his hip or shelved on his back, and a nonlethal option such as a taser), but he doesn't even sleep without them within reach.

The shoe knife was introduced to his outfits after the Titan Tower Attack. He wanted a hidden way to never be caught off guard again (he wasn't sure his precautions would be well-received by the Bats). The larger knife was added after the desert (Tim's not sure he'd resort to using it, but he lost two friends during a time he had only himself and them to rely on). The nonlethal one was added after Damian cut his line.

He does end up forgiving all the Bats for their transgressions and seeking forgiveness for his faults, but he's never without a weapon. He's learned that even "safe" spaces can suddenly become unsafe. He learned that, when it came down to it, he has only himself to constantly rely on.

And of course the only way this gets found out by the bats is when everyone is gathered in a safe place together, weaponless, and they’re suddenly attacked. Low and behold, guess who has enough weapons to go around? Tim fucking Drake.

Just thinking about the Wayne’s going to have a family dinner at a nice restaurant to give Alfred a break for a change then they all get kidnapped.

They’re kidnapped as civilians so they go along with it, but by the time they realize they’ve been put into a soundproof room with no way to call for backup it’s too late. It gets even worse when the bats learn that they’re not being held hostage, rather this is a hit order.

At this point, they’re obviously going to fight back but they’ve got guns and distance while the bats are stuck with just their fists.

Except for Tim, who throws a knife out of his shoe at a man about to shoot Dick. While grateful, Dick wishes that Tim hadn’t just thrown away his only weapon.

A knife comes out of his other shoe to land in the next man’s hand, who dared to point a gun at Bruce.

Down the line it continues. Knives of all sizes come out from various places to take everyone down. A large knife from his belt gets pressed to the leader’s throat with a threat to let the Wayne’s walk away free.

A mention to the press regarding Tim having taken a knife or axe throwing lesson as a kid will quiet any rumors that may occur.

The Wayne’s leave freely but they do wonder why Tim was so heavily armed for what was supposed to be a family dinner.

'Well this was going to be an awkward conversation', Tim thought as he trudged down the stairs slowly lowering himself into the batcave for a debriefing. His mind already thinking up excuses.

Everyone who was kidnapped was there, so Dick, damian and bruce. The rest of the family were also there, probably worried and wanting answers.

Damian and Dick were standing near the batcomputer quietly conversing with each other. Steph, Barbra and Jason were all huddled up in a semi-circle probably being brought up to date with what happened. Cass however looked unbothered to the untrained eye as sat on jasons shoulder (a habit she picked up a while ago) ,he could see how tense she was. While Bruce being Bruce, loomed ominously in the background, dramatic much?

As tim made himself known as he stepped down from the last step with a small thump all heads in the the room turned in his direction. Tim mentally sighed and seemingly dragged his feet to the nearest wall to lean against as the rest of the family started gathering in the middle.
